The 2.7l engine is not a free wheeling engine. most dual cam engines are not, if you are lucky it will just bend valve stems but if it goes above 2000rpms kiss the engine good . I have had them come in with the valve heads in the oil pan by of holes in pistons and connecting rods bent and through the cylinders. The 2.7 engine is a very much over engineered engine and will last with maintenance by the owners manual if not good buy.

Depends on model, engine, transmission, overall condition, etc...

Open the hood and locate the trans axle on the driver side of the car. You will need to remove the input sensor near the fill tube,it has a two wire small connector on it. The shift solenoid is under the rubber cover, remove the cover and discard if you are using a new solenoid. Next remove three 10mm long threaded bolts that hold it down,tap it with a hammer to break the gasket loose and remove it. There is two gaskets and a separator plate on the original solenoid.The new factory solenoid has one gasket,you discard the plate clean the area then install the gasket on the solenoid and slowly tighten the three 10mm bolts one then the other alternally until they are tight taken care not to strip the threads. install the removed input sensor and wire and the wire connector to the solenoid. Add fluid and go.The new solenoids are quiet no ratcheting when shifting.

It does not matter what your speedometer goes up to. I used to own a 105 after we had the engine fixed and rebuilt it would go a bit over 40mph with two adults in the boat. Great little boat smooth ride and a great boat to ski behind. I wish I still had it.

The speedometer in the 1975 Chrysler Conqueror 105 in my driveway I am restoring says 60mph.

Depends on engine, transmission, gearing, etc.

You have a problem with your transmission. The transmission is trying to shift to a lower gear than necessary. Check the transmission fluid first and if it is low add the correct transmission fluid. Do not Overfill. If this does not solve the problem than the transmission fluid may need to be changed or you may have another problem within the transmission. Can be a bad shift solenoid or a problem with the hydraulic control unit. You need to take it to a Chrysler dealership or to a trusted transmission specialist for service. Do not neglect this or serious damage may be done to the transmission if you continue to drive it.
