Cleverbot is a web application that uses artificial intelligence to converse with a human user. Created by Rob Carpenter, Cleverbot is unique because it learns from humans, and stores words and short conversations in its artificial memory.

How does cleverbot know my name?
Cleverbot doesn't inherently know your name unless you've previously shared it during your conversation. It uses machine learning algorithms to analyze text inputs and can remember context within a session, allowing it to reference information you've provided. If you mention your name, Cleverbot may remember it for the duration of the chat. However, once the session ends, it does not retain that information.
No one really knows if Cleverbot is a fake. There are predictions that it actually connects users with other users, like it is one huge anonymous chat-room. Since "Cleverbot" changes the subject so much, it really means the user you have been talking to changes.
Obviously, these rumors are unconfirmed (so if you find out otherwise, I'm not just spouting lies :D). Otherwise, Cleverbot would be taken off the Internet. It's just a funny site with no viruses. Cleverbot can seem inappropriate or threatening, but as long as you do not disclose any private information (in case there is an actual user on the receiving end), it is absolutely harmless.
