Do cocker spaniels get along with other Cocker spaniels?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes. they should do :) They are a lovely breed of dog. The only aggressive Cocker spaniels I have met are golden cockers. But if you've had a cocker spaniel for many years, and then decide to bring home a puppy, they might get a little jealous. So be careful. but if you get them the same time. it should be fine :) x

It is difficult to determine the age of a cockatoo, however young cockatoos will have a beak that is smooth and pale and their plumage will be paler, while an older bird's beak will be darker and have striations and their plumage will have a fuller coloration.

How do you get rid of smelly cocker spaniel ears?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

For my cats, if they had waxy , smelly ears we cleaned them with kitchen roll. Then get some rosemary or lavender , put it in boiling water , let the water cool down and wash the ears with the water . It helped when we did it weekly or when they were getting smelly again . If there's alot of wax and it's kinda really dark in colour they may have an ear infection so if it carries on being bad , best thing to do is get it checked out.

What is the name of a cocker spaniel and a poodle?

User Avatar

Asked by Act101

Poodog.

Poo from poodle and dog from bulldog.

(Not a popular breed because you have to walk it 8 times a day.)

An actual crossbreed, the full-size poodle and the English Bulldog, is an English Boodle. Most look more like a stocky poodle than a bulldog.

The age at which dogs reach sexual maturity depends on their breed. Small breeds tend to mature faster than large breeds. On average, however, males become fertile after six months of age and reach full sexual maturity by 12 to 15 months.

How much do cocker spaniels cost?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Cocker Spaniels can sell for all different prices, it really depends on the dog and if we are in a financial crises. Most Cocker Spaniel puppies would cost around $400. It really depends on the breeder - a well-bred puppy from fully health tested parents will cost more than a puppy that has no recorded history and no proof it was bred for perfect health and temperament.

Length of a cocker spaniel?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

*replying to first post*

First of all... 45" is about double the height of what the average Cocker Spaniel should be. A female Cocker with great conformation breeding will only reach 12-14.5" in height. A well bred conformation male will reach 13-15.5".

Hope this helps.

How fast do cocker spaniels grow?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It's quite shocking when their a puppy, just like a baby. They seem to shoot up. But they don't get that big so don't worry :) They grow to be... let me out it this way. When they are fully grown their head should be about the size they were when they a very small puppy :) so yes, pretty fast the first year, but then they slow down :)

Are cocker spaniels indoor dogs?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

== == == == The dog could possibly live outside, but living inside would be much better for it. Cocker Spaniels, like most dogs, need a good supply of water and food as well as a loving family. If you leave it outside, the dog will possibly freeze in the Winter or be very hot in the Summer.

I am sure they can but most small dogs can not stand too much heat or too much cold.

Any advice on clearing up a chronic ear infection in one ear of a seven year old Cocker Spaniel?

User Avatar

Asked by Bossyman1

Ear infections are hard to get rid of in long eared dogs. You'll need to clean the ear with an ear cleaning fluid, using a cotton ball. Be careful not to go too far into the ear canal. You will probably need to see the vet to get the proper drops to put into the ear once it's cleaned out. You have to be consistent with the cleaning and drops or it's a lost cause. Good luck.

Cockers should be groomed nearly every night!

They have shaggy fur, and their ears get tangled veryeasily - making it almost impossible to get the knots out. Special brushes can be purchased for the Cockers' fur type.

Who is better cocker spaniel or a pug?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It really depends what you want. Cocker spaniel's are often Bonkers, Mad, Mental and Crazy! Where as so are Cockapoo's. A cockapoo is a mixed breed cross between a Cocker spaniel and a poodle.

Poodle females are very nice and easy to potty train. I personally have a Cocker Spaniel and I love him to bits, he is going 7 soon and has calmed down a lot over the years, so always keep that in mind.

Just down the road from me lives a family with a labradoodle dog, a mixed breed cross between a labrador and a poodle, this is a big dog but is quite shy and grumpy. Most cross breeds have a very different personality other than Cocker Spaniel.

What does a cocker spaniel has droopings?

User Avatar

Asked by Hassanabdullah

Not that I'm an expert on puppies or anything but I do know that cocker spaniels used to be used for picking up pigeons when they were shot (the pigeons) by people and they would bring them back to them. They dribble sometimes because their mouth has an outline that is quite soft and it dribbles. They have this soft jaw line because when they carried the pigeons they didn't want to hurt them - or something like that anyway.

Don't be put off cocker spaniels though because they are easy to train and are good around children. Also my dad used to have one and it didn't dribble so I personally think it's a load of rubbish. They do need quite a lot of grooming however but still don't be put off. Someone told my mum this (after I was begging to have a cocker spaniel) and now she seems really put off by them.

What type of coat does a cocker spaniel have?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Quoting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocker_spaniel:

"Cocker Spaniels coats can come in a variety of colors including black, liver, red and lemon in solids. There are also black and tan, and sometimes liver and tan as well as a variety of color mixtures of those solid colors including roans, roan and tans, tricolors and those solid colors with additional white markings. Some colors are genetically possible such as a lemon tricolor, and an orange shade also exists, but is considered to be red when appearing in a solid colored dog.[17]"

The most common types of English Cocker Spaniel are "blue roan" a very dark blue/black colour and "brown roan" a tan/brown colour. The colouring is usually intermixed with white hair - the colouring usually appearing as spots / circles of colour. The spots can be small (1cm) or large (across the whole rump of the dog).

Is it safe to give your Cocker Spaniel piriton?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Of course you can. If you have a dog, and you have some piriton, it is physically possible to give the latter to the former. The question you should be asking is, "Is it safe, for the dog, for you to give a dog piriton?". But you didn't ask that question, so I won't answer it.

What is the smallest cocker spaniel dog?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Cockers are generally between 13 to 15" tall and 15 to 30 pounds. The smallest I have seen was 11" tall and 10 pounds at 2 yrs of age. Many people call smaller Cockers mini cockers but really there is no such thing. It is just a smaller Cocker. If you are looking for a small Cocker make sure both the parents are small because the larger size is dominant. You can not go by the puppy's size either. I have seen many times a puppy that was half the size of it's siblings catch up to them by adulthood. And have seen larger Cockers give birth to a whole litter of tiny puppies that were only 1.5 pounds at 4 weeks of age but all the puppies were around 30 pounds full grown. Smaller Cockers are not to the AKC Standards so you would never be able to show it.
