For most years caddo parish schools have been active for this holiday, but early 2012 caddo parish along with bossier parish and many counties im texas have considered Columbus day a true holiday , and atudents in caddo , bossier , and thoses selected texas parishes are out, so yes yo huys/gals are out!!!

I'm pretty sure it is. I think it's only closed on major major holiday where families like to get together like Christmas.
