Windows computers are the target of almost every computer virus on the planet because Windows is the most popular type of OS (Operating System). Think about it, if almost 94% of the population who have computers on Earth are using Windows, don't you think hackers and virus writers will take advantage of that and aim at every Windows computer? Apple computers and like you stated, Unix computers, are less vulnerable to virus attacks because the majority of computers are Windows (that's not to say you still can't get a virus if you have Apple or Unix).

Depends where you download it. If you download it from the official site, there's less of a risk. But if you download it on mediafire or something, you're at more of a risk of getting a virus.

A tr-agent is a program that is supposed to scare people into buying an anti-spyware software, which is really only a malware virus that will slow down the computer. The term tr-agent is short for a trogan agent.

I have no idea why you would ask this question. For windows, windows explorer is the built-in file browser. For mac, finder is the default file browser. As for linux.... if you've already installed it on your computer then you probably would have sufficient knowledge. Maybe you should word it differently?

I am assuming that the question is "what is a scam virus?" A scam virus is usually in the form of an email from someone you may know or not with a title such as VIRUS Alert etc. It will then go on to describe some form of destructive sounding program that will destroy your files etc. One famous one is the teddy bear virus where users we told to navigate to a particular file in their windows system that had a teddy bear icon and delete it. This file was in fact an authentic MS Windows file. My advice is whenever you get an email of any sort like this don't act on it until you have gone to one of the major anti virus software sites (Symantec, Trend, CA etc) and check out their current threat library and their scam virus library. Their are many types of these scams that are sent around mostly to waste time (yours) and to inconvenience the users as well.

Uninstall it from control panel or try revo uninstaller it will uninstall the remaining files from hard drive .Change your Home page to google or whatever you like .To change in IE click the gear icon and then internet options you will see a window where you have to change the Home page in Mozilla click on Firefox click on Options and then change the address according to your need .

Some criminal makes a virus and puts it on an internet page or in a file you receive in an email, and when you go to the page or open or run the file it can introduce the program to your computer to do its damage.
