Monica's obsession with Diego is increasingly powerful and will remove any obstacles in her path. It sounds like a line from a Spanish telenovela (soap opera). I didnt watch the Emmys, but knowing Conan O'Brien's style of humor, I would guess he was being a goofy ham imitating the melodramatic style of such telenovelas.

We don't know when that will happen permanently, but we're guessing it will probably be at the end of the series. In a recent interview, Aoyama Gosho has said that he already knows what the end of Detective Conan will be, but does not have time to draw it yet, but it may be sooner than we thought! But, he has changed back in episodes 48-49, episodes 180-183, and episodes 521-523.
