Why does a California condor have a bald head?
All vulture and vulture-like species have bald heads. The main reason is for sanitation. Vultures eat dead things - often very dead, very putrid, very bacteria-infested things.
If you had to stick your head inside the bloated side of a dead deer for every meal, you'd shave your head too.
It keeps them from having to try and clean the feathers regularly, and keeps bacteria and other lovely gross stuff from growing in the feathers.
Andean Condors eat dead animals as they do not kill animals. They are a carnivore.

How did the Constitution solve problems created by the Articles of Confederation?
The Constitution was designed to solve the major weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation. One of the most serious problems was the lack of federal power. The Executive Branch, missing in the Articles, was created to enforce federal laws in the country. The government under the Constitution also had the power to tax. Under the Articles, only state governments could tax due to fears of monarchy and tyranny that might result if the federal government was allowed to tax. However, the federal government had to depend on the states for revenue, which the states did not always give. This was a serious problem because the US had $27 million in war debts. The first sign that the new Constitution was better than the old Articles of Confederation was the Whiskey Rebellion, in which the new government aptly showed its ability to enforce its laws.

I purchased an uplander 20 gauge new 2 years ago. That gun was loaded with problems. It would dent primers and not fire the shell. It also would make a grinding sound when breaking the barrels to recock the gun. the selective triger-safety slide would jamb. Some times the gun would fire only one barrel but not the other barrel, which appeared to not even be cocked. When I went to the gun shop for advice the propriator gave me 4 different brand of shells to try. 3 of the 4 failed to fire with in those first boxes. Back east the gun went . In fact three times the gun went back east to the distribution center-shop. That gun returned worse each time. This was a first gun for my 14 year old son and the whole experience was a real downer for us both, causing us to miss most of his first longly looked forward to hunting season. In the end the gun shop owner gave us credit to use in his shop only after Stoeger admitted they had a real problem with the uplander. The only other break action gun I could afford was a stoeger Condor and that was my second poor choice. It to has some real dependability issues in that it miss fires about 0ne out of one hundred shells. Bad thing to happen to anyone let alone to someone new to the sport. Not to mention the safety issues around an undependable firearm. My advice is to check ever other brand out carefully BUT DO NOT BUY A STOEGER they are a real bad investment. Mine will probly end up at a gun control buy back program to be destroyed. Undependable fire arms are a real safety issue and Stoegers are undependable period.
