There's no real record of Corey Haim's political views. He was free-spirited and first smoked a joint at fifteen on the set of "The Lost Boys". After his drug use became public, Corey participated in a 'Just Say No' campaign to try and regain his reputation. This was an initiative by the First Lady Nancy Reagan during the 1980s to try and stamp out drug use, particularly amongst kids and teens. The political climate of the time was particularly unkind to Corey, a famous teen idol who had struggled with drug addiction from a young age. Though acknowledged as naturally talented, he soon experienced a public fall from grace and his career stalled at twenty.

In a different era, and with the right help, Corey may have been able to weather the storm and gone on to be a successful adult actor.

After appearing in small roles in films such as "Crank 2: High Voltage", and the DVD titles "Shark City" and "American Sunset", Haim was starting to build a career in the industry again when he suddenly passed away of pneumonia.

He was doing much better within months before he passed away and had some work in the TV and movie industry to look forward too. The coroner believes he died of a sudden heart attack as Haim was known to have problems with his heart and blood clots in his arms and legs and did find some drugs in his system, but the tests from the autopsy are not conclusive.

It showed Haim's best friend, fellow actor Corey Feldman and his wife trying to help him get over his addiction, but after realizing he was enabling him more than helping him, Feldman pledged not to work with Haim again until he got clean. Thankfully Haim gave it his best shot and went on to make films such as 'Crank 2: High Voltage' and 'American Sunset', but sadly died of pneumonia before he was able to make a true comeback.
