The only "Criminal Minds" now associated with this show are the programming execs at CBS for letting Mandy Patinkin depart.

As of 4/18/2011 we are in the 6th season. This September they will be going into their 7th Season. Usually each season has 15-16 episodes.

Well, for one, she got shot. Then when they were hunting down this one guy who was getting into peoples houses and killing them, she went and shot him. She said it was self defence, but it wasn't, and when Hotch scheduled a psyc. eval., she kind of paniced and told Hotch she was leaving..

On season 5 episode 1 Dr. Reid was shot in the leg by a man.

He also damaged his knee in a bar in real life so his time with crutches was extended. This is also why he had a huge brace on his leg.

AJ Cook will not be returning as a series regular in season six, due to the production company opting not to renew AJ Cook's contract, but she will return for two episodes to wrap up her storyline.

The decision to cut Cook was made for creative reasons. A new actress will be brought in later in the season to fill the void left by Cook.

Yes, he has left the show. His last appearance was in March 2016. His character didn't die, so it is possible that he could return in a guest appearance, but he will no longer be a regular cast member.

AJ Cook never "left" criminal minds, but her character did for a few episodes. JJ was pretty much forced by Strauss and the government to go work at the Pentagon.

The masked man then stabs hotchner but makes sure he misses all vital organs as he wants hotchner to suffer not die.
