Crystal light is not good for you due to the aspartame/nutra sweet added to it instead of sugar. It's a nuero toxin which can cause brain and nervous disorders and may also cause symptoms of multiple sclerosis.

Nestea is good for you if you get the plain unsweetened bottle.

This is a bunch of misinformation, sorry to say. Over 90 countries have found that Aspartame is completely safe for human consumption, not to mention that it is one of the most tested substances ever in the US (according to the FDA), and has been found to be completely safe. People tend to want to discredit or besmirch products that aren't natural purely because they don't exist naturally and therefore could not possibly be good for you. The rest of us rely on testing results and food commissions worldwide for their opinions on the matter. In this case, the overwhelming consensus is that Aspartame is perfectly fine. Certainly better than any of the other sweeteners that haven't gone through anywhere near as much testing (Splenda e.g.)

The sweetener used in crystal light can be tasted by humans, but not broken down by our bodies, thereby giving us no calorie/nutrition intake. That being said, mold is not the same as us and some forms can even grow on and break down tree bark to get needed calories/nutrition - again a source of energy that is not available to us since we cannot break it down. The mold you see in the container just happens to be a form that can live off the sweetener in crystal light, otherwise it would not be there. In a research project I was working on, a fellow team of scientists were having some success with engineering bacteria to the point that they could live off of breaking down PCB pollution, thereby hopefully giving us a future option of cheap natural pollution cleanup.

The temperature of crystal light would not affect a person. It should not be deadly at any temperature. I've heard that aspartame releases formaldehyde when heated, but I don't know how tried and true this is. Some say the research that backs this up create levels that far exceed what would be found in human foods. And despite health concerns about ingesting formaldehyde, the truth is that small amounts are found in other, unprocessed, foods in nature such as shitake mushrooms. If it puts your mind at ease, the FDA has approved aspartame for foods that are heated, and it is even present in baked goods. However, all science aside, I don't recommend drinking it warm. I use the Walmart version of Crystal Light, and I've noticed that if a glass is left out or reused throughout the day, a very bad chemical taste and smell develops. As a result, I've reduced my intake and have switched over to unsweetened teas, watered down fruit juices, or water with lemon. I don't enjoy the taste of tap water without some kind of flavoring, and bottled water is just too expensive to purchase on a regular basis.
