Connect the supplied anttena on the reciever. Once you have done that, then:

1. dtv symbol device

2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks

3. enter 9 6 1

4. press CH UP

5. enter the last 6 digits of the Receiver ID #, found on a sticker in the access card compartment

6. press SELECT

Now the receiver will accept both IR and RF, but the directv device on the RC32RF remote will only emit RF signals. The av1, av2, and tv are all still IR only.

You need to have the Starz movie package and you will receive on the channels 526, 527, 530, 532 and 533

Using a big dish with a 4dtv receiver is the least expensive. This way you can go alacart programing. If you are handy you can acquire the equipment second hand for almost nothing otherwise if you have to buy new it may not be such a good deal. There is a lot of systems out there that people would let you have just for the taking. My dish is probably 25 years old and I found a 4dtv receiver for $200. I get about 30 channels and pay about $64 a year. The picture and sound are top notch.

On Comcast's expanded service, Nickelodeon is on channel 228.

On DirecTV's Choice package, Nickelodeon is on channel 300 (channel 299 for eastern time).

On Time Warner Cable, Nickelodeon is on channel 6.

It should be on channel 2080. It says so on the direct tv website.

Just to clarify on the answers given. The LNBs are different for DISH Network and DTV along with the receivers. The LNB and receiver takes the signal from the satellite and gives you your signal on your TV. As stated, you can't use different receivers and LNB from different companies. The dish outside does not matter, just the LNB and receiver.

Bull....loney. I'm using an old 18" DirecTv dish to receive signals from a Dishnetworks satellite at 119W. The satellite receivers will be different because different signalling protocols are used.

The two satelltie tv service providers that I compared were DirectTv and Dish network. They both offer the same amount of channels however for a better movie selection Dish Network was better. For more sports channels and the NFL network Direct TV had a better selection.

Shop At Home- Does not answer the mail, or phone, or email. No they are not. Heaven forbid if you have a problem. You would think you were trying to contact the Pope, while only trying to reach a SAH customer service supervisor. Some products are better than others. I have purchased 3rd party graded coins, which were fine. The opinion was not subjective, it was established by NGC or PCGS. My biggest problem with SAH is an item I purchased and never received just prior to their sale to Jewelry TV from Scripps. I have never received the NGC MS-70 Gold American coin. Nor did I ever receive a refund. The company does not back, cover or otherwise respond to anything the company did before the sell. Others, like myself, never received what they ordered and customer service refuses to let you even speak to a supervisor. Shame on them! Tony
