Give them the toy in their mouth, go to the place where you want them to keep their toys and call them. Then ask them to drop or take the toy and place it on the floor while repeating a simple command like "keep" or something. Offer a treat or pat and praise. Do this everytime after playing or daily. In the long run, your dog will do it by itself as a habit

Dogs lick their private areas because it is the only way to clean themselves. Dogs want to be clean, but they cant use toilet paper. If they do not do this then they might get infections

sometimes depending on the type of dog...most dogs react to the personality of the person they are with, so a happy person yields a happy dog...sad person = sad dog, but it doesnt happen immediately, so if the person's demeanor can change quickly based on their surroundings a dog can really help, but it all has to do with how motivated the person is after the dog's happiness and cuteness gets them out of their sadness. If the person can ultimately deal with the problem that made them depressed then the dog is a great idea, but if not then they will eventually make the dog sad and depressed which is horrible because now there's two sad people, which isn't good for anyone.

It's like trying to make a person forget they just got dumped by taking them to the amusement park and having so much fun with them but when you leave the park they remember they were dumped and get all sad and depressed again...the ultimate solution is for them to deal with the issue that made them sad in the first place...

remind them its not forever and make them do things that are active until they take control of their lives again, a person who is depressed needs purpose, so being responsible for something like a dog or another animal is a good idea as long as they are responsible enough to take care of the dog and not neglect it...a lot of times having a dog for unlimited love can remind someone that whatever made them depressed isn't the end of the world or the most important thing in their own life...make them take control and motivated to move on with their life...

It could be because they're bored, or it could be the smell of them that attracts them. Not all dogs chew shoes and when they do it's normally not the only thing they chew.

Second, if your dog has not peed on the carpet and you've recently had a major change in the household (moved to a new place, wedding, divorce, new kid, kid leaving for college), this could be a sign of stress. Keep a close eye on your dog for the next few weeks and reassure him/her that his/her schedule will still be there.

Third, if your dog has always peed on the carpet, this is likely a learned behavior - I would suggest talking to a dog trainer about how to retrain your dog to urinate outside.

No. A female dog must be 3-4 years old. If a six month old does produce puppies, that's one amazing puppy... But it's not possible.

Im having the same problem. I have a male cat that was neutered about a month and a half ago and 2 female cats (The "mommy" is about a year and a half old and so is the male) We also have an unfixed 4 month old female Kitten. The male cat has been in "heat" for a couple of days and continiously trying to do the deed with the older female cat. Shes not fixed but IS pregnant and about to give birth in a week or two. Hes not going near the kitten though. Could it be that maybe the vets didnt remove all the tissue properly? Besides bringing the cat to the vet what other suggestions might people have?

Very simply, it means that they hear something interesting or unexpected. It is part of the behavior known as "alerting" to a stimulus. Not only does an alert dog raise her ears, she also opens her eyes wide, stares in the direction of the object of interest, sniffs the air in order to get a scent, and may even start barking. Her tail goes stiff and her hackles may rise. Yes they can. Carrots are very good for dogs. Our 3 dogs all love carrots, steamed or plain! It is also good for their teeth. I would give a large dog 4-6 carrots a day and a smaller one 3 or 4. Carrots can be a choking hazard though so you may want to slice them in half down the side.
