Well first off, he was never blind. But he did have bad eyesight during his late 30's and became worse as life went on. He was a guard and the harsh cold and bright sun damaged his sight. Later on he found out he couldn't see with his right eye! He got a little less work to do as a guard but, his eye sight was still getting poorer. Soon he had to ask his models to tell him which color was which and couldn't read. I guess you could say he was blind but blind means can't see at all. He could see very little.

Mainly in Paris. In 1872-73 he visited relatives in New Orleans and made quite a few paintings there as well.

He liked to paint INSIDE, but he also painted horses at the races.

He studied the human body in action. because he had his own dance studio and when the girls ( dancers ) had a break he sketched them. and then when he was all alone , he painted his paintings.

Edgar Degas' full name is Hilaire-Germain-Edgar De Gas. He was born on July 19th 1834. He later became a famous French artist for his paintings, sculptures, and drawings.

Edgar degas called himself a realist, but as his eyesight got worst his art style became more impressionistic.

He was a successful artist, did not marry, lwas nearly blind during his last few years.

Degas is most famous for his paintings of ballerinas and dancers. Some of his more famous works included The Young Spartans, and The Bellelli Family. Degas was an impressionist painter who influenced Mary Cassat and many other impressionists of the time.

He was of course in some way influenced by his impressionist colleagues. But more important were his visits to Italy, where he studied the Italian Renaissance art, and also copying old masters in the Louvre museum.

A close look at his work shows changes all the way. One of the most important changes is his increased interest in pastel, and about 1880 he started trying to make pastel as heavy as oil paint.

He lost all of his friends at an early age so probably never even thought about marriage or even dating. What i saw in this video about Mary Cassatt (which mentioned him in it) was that neither of them wanted to get married because there spouse would always say how it looks good or i like it, and they wanted some criticism on their work.

An El Degas is a MIJ guitar manufacturer. they made copies of other famous brand name guitars. I own an el degas LP goldtop, it is a well made LP copy. Unfortunatley there isn't a lot of info about them.....it is speculated that they were made at the matsuzaku plant in japan along with the Ibanez, aria and univox guitars, but no real concrete evidence.....especially since the plant burned down.
