To which of Degas' works of ballet do you refer? To my knowledge, Degas is best known for paintings, drawings and bronzes of ballerinas and race horses. I am not familiar with a work specifically entitled "Ballet Girl", but would welcome an opportunity to be enlightened.
In 1881 Edison was awarded the French Legion of Honor, and in 1889 Italy made him a Grand Officer of the Crown. He received awards from many other countries including Chile, Britain, Japan, and Russia. Henry Ford built a museum of industry, consisting mainly of Edison's inventions, in Dearborn, Michigan. In 1929 the museum held a celebration, called Light's Golden Jubilee, to mark the 50th anniversary of the invention of the electric light.
In 1887, Edison won the matteucci medal.

(The answer before was mierda. How rude!)
It is a bronze sculpture with textile clothes added.
he is an impresimistic but prefers to be called a realist. He does mostly ballerinas
Well first off, he was never blind. But he did have bad eyesight during his late 30's and became worse as life went on. He was a guard and the harsh cold and bright sun damaged his sight. Later on he found out he couldn't see with his right eye! He got a little less work to do as a guard but, his eye sight was still getting poorer. Soon he had to ask his models to tell him which color was which and couldn't read. I guess you could say he was blind but blind means can't see at all. He could see very little.
Mainly in Paris. In 1872-73 he visited relatives in New Orleans and made quite a few paintings there as well.
He liked to paint INSIDE, but he also painted horses at the races.
He studied the human body in action. because he had his own dance studio and when the girls ( dancers ) had a break he sketched them. and then when he was all alone , he painted his paintings.
Edgar Degas' full name is Hilaire-Germain-Edgar De Gas. He was born on July 19th 1834. He later became a famous French artist for his paintings, sculptures, and drawings.
Edgar degas called himself a realist, but as his eyesight got worst his art style became more impressionistic.
Degas made lots of 'Dancers' paintings. Two of them are: Dancers at the Bar, ca. 1900 51-1/4 x 38-1/2 in. (130x98 cm) The Phillips Collection, Washington, D.C. Dancers Practicing at the Bar, 1877 29 3/4 x 32 in. (76 x 81 cm) Metropolitan Mus., NYC
About 1200 paintings and 75 small-scale sculptures by Degas are known.
Some well-known titles are:
The Bellelli Family (1858-1867)
Woman with Chrysanthemums (1865)
Chanteuse de Café (c.1878)
At the Milliner's (1882)
He also made many paintings of ballet dancers.
It is a scene from the Paris opera ballet school.
Artists cannot possibly have just one favorite color.
He was a successful artist, did not marry, lwas nearly blind during his last few years.
Degas is most famous for his paintings of ballerinas and dancers. Some of his more famous works included The Young Spartans, and The Bellelli Family. Degas was an impressionist painter who influenced Mary Cassat and many other impressionists of the time.
He was of course in some way influenced by his impressionist colleagues. But more important were his visits to Italy, where he studied the Italian Renaissance art, and also copying old masters in the Louvre museum.
A close look at his work shows changes all the way. One of the most important changes is his increased interest in pastel, and about 1880 he started trying to make pastel as heavy as oil paint.
Edgar Degas never got married.
He lost all of his friends at an early age so probably never even thought about marriage or even dating. What i saw in this video about Mary Cassatt (which mentioned him in it) was that neither of them wanted to get married because there spouse would always say how it looks good or i like it, and they wanted some criticism on their work.
Answer 2:
another way of saying this is to quote Degas: Art is my wife.
http://www.notablebiographies.com/De-Du/Degas-Edgar.html Back in Paris in 1861, Degas executed a few history paintings (a painting that depicts a historical event; then regarded as the highest branch of painting). From 1862 to 1870 Degas painted portraits of his friends and family.
