Edward Teach, or better knows as Blackbeard was a notorious English pirate who operated around the West Indies and the eastern coast of the American colonies. Little is knowned about his early life but he was likely borned in Britstol, England. Blackbeard became well known when he captured a French merchant vessel and renamed her Queen Anne`s Revenge. Blackbeard became the inspiration for a number of pirate-themed works of fiction across a range of genres.

If you mean the notorious pirate, Blackbeard (born as Edward Teach, c. 1680 - November 22, 1718), was a very bad pirate who killed people, marooned people on islands, and stole what he could. So he was very bad.
He attacked a French slave ship called La Concorde of Saint-Malo, killed several of the crew, forced the captain to surrender, disembarded the ship, emptied the cargo, renamed it to Queen Anne's Revenge, and mounted 40 guns on her. Then in November of 1717, he attacked the Great Allen in quite a lengthy engagement. It was a well-armed ship, but no match for him. He forced it to surrender, disembarked it, emptied its holds, burned it, and sank it. Then in December, he stopped the merchant sloop Margaret, took the crew and captain hostage for 8 hours as his crew ransacked the ship, then returned the crew and captain unharmed.
Eventually, there was a bounty on him and he was captured and killed in the process on November 22, 1718 at age 38.

In 1716, Teach became a pirate when he met the well-known pirate, Benjamin Hornigold, at New Providence. Hornigold took Teach on as an apprentice and he proved to be a quick study. Sometime in early 1717, Hornigold gave Teach his own command of a sloop and together the two pirates wrecked havoc in the following months. Later, off the island of St. Vincent, the two sloops closed in on a merchant ship and captured it. The ship was a large Dutch-built French guineaman called The Concord, which Teach decided he liked. Hornigold allowed him to claim this prize ship as Teach's new command, and he continued his life of piracy from there.
