Ender Series

In "Ender's Game," IF stands for the International Fleet. It is the military organization formed to protect Earth from another alien attack. Ender is recruited into the International Fleet to train at Battle School.

"Ender's Shadow" was first published in 1999. It is a parallel novel to Orson Scott Card's famous sci-fi novel "Ender's Game," offering a different perspective on the events of the original book.

She was left alone with Peter and had to learn how to cope with that. She did it by blackmailing him in some cases and going along with his schemes in other areas. She develops her brilliance as well, and learns a lot from Peter. Eventually, when Ender has beaten the Formics, she joins him to begin to travel together. In a later book, she marries and has children.

That is a question that has held great importance in the book. Who is Ender's true friends? It's hard to say, one way of looking at it, he has no friends. The other children look up to him, follow his example. But who does Ender look up to and count on? Also you could say the teachers are the enemies, for they manipulate him. Later on it seems that Humanity is Ender's enemy. But that is only after the writing of the 'Hive Queen'. It is clear that Bean, Petra, Hot Soup, and Crazy Tom are close to Ender, but does that mean that they are his friends? I hope that my questions have given you the answer you were looking for.

Peter Wiggin is depicted as intelligent, manipulative, and ambitious in "Ender's Game." He is cunning and strategic, willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goals, even if it means resorting to deceit and coercion. Peter is also portrayed as having a darker side, with a thirst for power and control over others.

I guess... In the beginning of the book, Ender is completely human, wholly for the human race, but, throughout the book, as he studies the Formics, and begins to love them, he loses a bit of his humanity.

In "Ender's Game," when Mazer Rackham says "there is no teacher but the enemy," he is highlighting the idea that one can learn the most from facing challenges and adversaries. By going up against a formidable opponent, individuals can discover their strengths, weaknesses, and ultimately grow and improve.

Graff is the Princible of Battle School, at least until he got court marshled for the incident with Bonzo. To Ender, Graff seems like any other teacher, trying to use him and break him. But Graff seems to have hidden affection for Ender, and is reluctant to push him to his limit.

Ender becomes homesick when he receives a letter from his sister Valentine because it reminds him of his family and the life he left behind on Earth. This triggers a sense of nostalgia and longing for the familiarity and comfort of his previous life.

In the Sci-Fi novel, parents are only allowed one child (to find the right sort of children to take part in the Battle School training program), except in special circumstances;

Ender's parents had Peter, who was monitered until he was twelve, but Peter proved to be much to viiolent and sadistic (hence him staking a squirrel to the ground and waiting for it to die...). Because of this, Ender's parents were allowed another child; Valentine. Valentine was not at all like Peter, and in fact, she was too nice, and too loving to be turned into a soldier or commander. So because of this, Ender's parents were allowed a 'third', and Ender of course proved to be the perfect balance between Peter and Valentine.

Being a third would be vary rare, and as the book states, Ender was the only 'third' in his school. Human nature being what it is, Ender was targeted for being different to the other students, and was bullied.

I assume you mean the dialogue at the beginnings of the chapters, generally in a different font (bold in my copy.) That is conversation between the teachers, generally Graff and Anderson, and it tells the reader a little of the background that Ender doesn't necessarily see; the first section describes how the monitor works monitors the kids, others reveal how urgent the situation with the buggers really is, the fact that they monitor the game (and call it the mind game, making its purpose evident,) etc. Generally it just clarifies the story while leaving Ender conveniently in the dark.

Dink Meeker is a character in the science fiction novel "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card. He is one of Ender Wiggin's close friends and classmates at Battle School. Dink is known for his intelligence, strategic thinking, and his ability to challenge authority.

Some motifs in "Ender's Game" include the themes of isolation and loneliness, as Ender struggles with being ostracized and disconnected from his peers. Another motif is the idea of power and control, whether it be through the manipulation of others or the desire to overcome one's circumstances. Finally, the notion of deception and the blurred lines between truth and fiction is a recurring motif as characters navigate through a world filled with hidden agendas and secrets.

Because Veni Vidi Vici means I came, I saw, I conquered, in latin. This is the chapter where Ender leads his army in the Battle room for the first time, and he wins immediately. Veni Vidi Vici is a quote from Julius Caesar, by the way.

Petra told him that Bonzo is going to fight with him and he is not that surprising, maybe just a bit but he knew it.

The climax of "Ender's Game" occurs when Ender unknowingly leads the human fleet in a simulation that he believes is another test, only to find out he has been commanding real troops in a battle against the Formics. One before Battle School, right after he got his monitor taken out, Stilson.. ends up dying.

One in the Space Shuttle, Bernard, breaks his left arm.

And then two times in Battle School.. Bonzo tries to fight gang up on Ender in the bathroom and he gets beat up pretty bad, ends up dying.

There's also before Bonzo, when Commanders sent their soldiers to Ender's evening practice, to try and stop him, they tried to fight but because of the null gravity, everything went wrong. They lost and Ender got some good punches in.. drew some blood.

So I guess all in all, four times. (And Ender never knows that he killed anybody)
