Ethnicity

A person's race, in and of itself, has nothing to do with their natural fears and a fear of police or authority figures is natural, in some degree, to almost everyone. Fear is what gives the authority figure their power.

This is cultured into people. The more a people are afraid of the police, the more they act in ways that lead to more aggressive police involvement, which in turn leads to more fear of the police.

Let's use fictional races to show how this works. Let's say the police stop a purple person and a green person. Now suppose the purple person stands still, acting calmly and non-suspicious, and the green person takes off running. Now which one is likely to be told they can go, and which one do you think will get body-slammed or shot at? The green person would likely conclude that them running was justified as their people have told them, since if they didn't run, worse might have happened. So the problem is a lot of wrong assumptions leading to behaviors which cause what was assumed would happen. It is all a huge misunderstanding.

Ethnicity refers to the group of people from which a person is descended as identified by language, culture, and similar genetics. Nationality refers to the country in which a person is a citizen. Sometimes, these are the same, but in many cases, especially with immigrants and their descendants, the ethnicity tracks back to a different country than the one in which they live.

Social class is more important than race-ethnicity in determining a family's characteristics because it reflects the kind of lifestyle a family is living. Social class is also a representation of a family's financial capability. Race or ethnicity can represent cultures but not the standards of living.

Ethnicity and race are both social constructs used to categorize groups of people based on shared cultural and physical characteristics. Both can influence a person's identity and how they are perceived by society. However, ethnicity tends to focus more on cultural practices and traditions, while race is typically linked to physical characteristics such as skin color.
