You want to get a Final Fantasy game which should you start with?
The ones that I started with, and the best ones to me so far, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X, and Final Fantasy XII. But the thing about the games is that the battle style is different. FF VII has a team vs. team time based battle system. FF X has a team vs. team turn based battle system. FF XII has a free roaming battle system that is also time based. If you have gone through to memoria the mobs inside are better than grand dragons but not as good as the Yans.

The DS version was more focused around developing your five main characters fully by using the augments, and by having a new game +, and then a new game ++.
The lunar ruins on the other hand was part of the GBA version, which allowed you to use most of the temporary characters again, and had ways of developing them.
The two systems didn't really mesh. Having the main characters get the augments didn't really mix with one where the old characters could still be used. Taking your main team through the game three times didn't really mix with having to deal with 10 characters and a huge dungeon where virtually none of the items you got could be carried into the new game +.
So they went with the exclusive Augment system and dropped the GBA Advance version's specific areas.

First I found a save point, saved, then went to fight Golbez. First in the battle, you'll attack him, but it won't do much damage.(No matter how high your level is, trust me)Then Golbez will summon a "Shadow Dragon".(or something along the lines of that,But It is some kind of Shadow dragon)Golbez will use the shadow to kill all of your people, but he saves Cecil for last. I used a besitary item to see what he's weak to then used Rydia's summon spirit that is the same as the weakness.(ex.If Golbez is weak to fire, use Ifrit, the fire spirit.)After you attack him once doing this strategy, he'll change his weakness again. Just do the strategy above 3-4 times and BAM you defeat Golbez for now.
