Is received cash from issuing stock an asset?
Yes, cash received is an asset while stock issued is liability. Cash is asset because this cash now be use for the business benefit.
Why are salaries and purchases not reported on a statement of cash flows using the indirect method?
Under indirect method net income from normal income statement is adjusted for non cash items to arrive at cash flow from operating activities. As salaries and purchases are already accounted for in normal income that;s why it is not reported otherwise it will count twice.
Does advertisement form part of cost of goods sold?
Cost of goods sold incoporates all items to ad value to that product. So no, adverstising is an expense.
