The Flag feature in your Yahoo Inbox, is used for highlighting important messages. When you look at your list again, the flag next to a message makes it easier to find, if you want to come back to it for follow-up.

The Swahili flag is the exact same as the Kenya flag. Red, Green, and black stripes with a red white and black shield.

A bit represents two colors or states, typically represented as 0 and 1. In digital systems, these can correspond to different colors or signals, but fundamentally, a single bit can only convey two distinct values. When multiple bits are combined, they can represent a broader range of colors; for example, 8 bits can represent 256 different colors.

This flag was used as a symbol on Nazi Germany's ground forces (i.e. tanks, vehicles) to prevent their Air Force from firing on friendly forces. however, this flag was only largly used during the early campaigns in poland, france, and early invasion of Russia. around the 1943-1944 period, these flags were all replaced with the "normal" Nazi swastika flag.

The woman that sewed the first US flag was Betsy Ross, according to myth and popular belief.

The black one meant ya' still had a bit of a chance at staying alive once they caught up to you. It was an offer of "quarter," (mercy) if you didn't resist.

The red version of the flag meant no quarter given, no quarter asked. Basically, it meant you were doomed if they caught you and you didn't win the fight.

The red stripe comes before the white stripe because the red stripe stands for blood which means the sacrified blood that was lost in war when the U.S.A was found and the white stripe comes after because the white stands for pride, honor, and foundation.

The Flag of Fiji has a shield which includes a bunch of bananas.

This is a subject that is debated quite often and from researching both sides of the debate it seems that a case for both sides can be made. It comes down to individual interpretation of the flag code.

The flag code states:

The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.

I believe the sentence "The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever." is pretty straight forward. But of course this is the USA, and people have a wide variety of opinions on this issue according to their personal interpretation of the code. One counter point is if a business owner displays US flags at his business with advertising, are we to question his motives? For example, is the business owner displaying the flags to show his patriotism, or increase sales and traffic? As I mentioned the code can be interpreted many ways.
