The shield on Kenya's flag (the symbol in the middle) is to represent defense of the 3 colors: The colours symbolize black majority, red for the blood shed during the struggle for freedom, and green for the land of Kenya.

Libiya. Because apparently that was Gaddafi's favorite colour was green. But now they seem to have adopted the old flag, which has a design on it, although supporters of Gaddafi still use the plain green flag.

A lot of people seem to saying it the Danish flag however if you look in the lion rampant (the flag for the Scottish Monarch) which was created 200 year before the Danish flag. Its also similar with the Welsh flags. These places have national characteristics however they are not technically nations.
