You should always check with your local government for local laws. But otherwise, the whole point of a yard sale is to sell second hand 'new', almost new, or used items. As soon as a person buys a new item from a store, it automatically then becomes 'second hand'. So yes, yard sales sell second hand items.
The vast majority of flea market vendors have no license of any kind.
But if you want to create an actual small business and reap the tax and small business loan benefits of an actual small business, you would be well-advised to apply for a business license and a tax or resale license or permit.
A resale or tax license or permit means the state wants you to collect sales tax on every sale and submit it to the state once per quarter, just like any retail store. (The cost of the permit would be a business deduction.)
Having a business license would allow you to form an LLC.
Forming an LLC (limited liability corporation) is the easiest to form. A single proprieter type of business would be well to become an LLC. Becoming an LLC protects your personal belongings from liability from your business. It's rare when accidents happen at flea markets, but if one of your displays or tables were to fall on someone and injure or kill them and they or their estate sue, it could cost you dearly. Being an LLC will help insulate your own personal holdings from court judgements.
I make thousands of dollars each and every month selling at flea markets and swap meets and always get paid in cash! It's fun, it's easy.
order of importance
Absolutely! First, you should check with your town to find out if you need a permit. Also, be sure to note how many days per year you are allowed to have a garage sale with your state before it's considered a legit business and you will be required to pay taxes.
To make more money on the yard sale, you'll need to properly advertise it so that a large amount of people show up to buy your stuff.

tell them alot of times that you dont need it and say that u will give the money to charity but dont!!!!! =] then they might give in to u if they dont say to them u can sell some of it for free
Dont sell when people need to keep their money for holidays, birthdays, Christmas, Easter, family outings, buying a new car or house, buying food or clothing. In short, there is no best time to buy or sell anything. Put your article in an auction that best suits its description if it a specialist item
original ds: about $20
no way like 60-120 dollars (depending on the condition)
Have a "free" box for all those plastic cups/containers, odds & ends you want gone.
Books don't bring much money - have a box Labelled $ .25 and fill it with books.
Clothes - unless it's an expensive suit or gown, clothes don't bring much money. Charge anywhere from $ .25 for socks to $3.00 for a dress. Nice coats perhaps $5.00. Nothing higher.
Electronic equipment is in demand. If selling anything electronic (toaster, lamp, etc) have an extension cord available for people see if it works. $5.00 up to ??? depending on the original price and what it is.
Group items rather than pricing individually, except for the big items (dining set, sofa, etc).
Again, if you want it gone, price to sell and be quick to negotiate. If there's a particular price you want, price it higher to give room for "haggling". People like to think they got a good deal just by asking.
There are several options one can use to sell their stuff online, but the most successful sites include eBay and Amazon. Etsy is also a good site to use for those who would like to sell homemade crafts, jewelry, and art.
Pretty much anywhere. You may need to get a permit from your local government first though.
The Assistant make 25-28k a year. You can have potential bonuses of making 100-500 a month if you make sales. The Store manager is where the money is at 60K
There is nothing on there website that says you need a permit. You may want to check eith your local government though.
Yes and sometimes they are the official stuff and sometimes they are knock offs. Used jerseys are also normally available and are a bargain.. I bought an Atlanta Braves Jerey brand new for $20 and it is the same jersey they actually wear and sells for up to $100 in MLB stores..
different cities and towns have different laws. Most larger cities require you to have permit. Smaller towns usually don't make you have a permit. Check wih local authorities to see about your town.
They probably called it a flea market because fleas can crawl in and bite people up.
