What happened to Brite Floor Cleaner?
It is no longer being made by SC Johnson. According to their website:
"We no longer produce Brite® Floor Cleaner, but don't worry -- we do have Pledge® Tile & Vinyl Floor Cleaner that does the same trick."
When used with area and Oriental rugs, carpet padding is used to provide an extra cushion beneath your feet, to prevent the rug from sliding all over the floor, and to promote even wear on the rug's pile. For flatweave and antique rugs, carpet padding is a must!

How much does it cost per sq-ft to install wood flooring in the New Jersey area?
It always depends on the quality of the installer but a good installer should charge no more than about $2 per sq ft for the installation unless there is a lot of custom work involved.
Or you can install it yourself for around $0.50 / ft including all the tool rentals you might need.
It depends on who you hire for this job - floor installation company, self-employed hardwood floor installer or yourself. The difference in prices is may be very high. And if you are installing hardwood floor for the firs time and just planing your budget, do not forget to include:
subfloor preparation:removing old floor covering and making perfect floor leveling (because it is not for carpet).
Moldings
Baseboards
Transitions
If you plan to install hardwood on stairs - there is additional stuff for it.
Anyway, at the first time you have to make hard job, at the second - you'll be professional! Good luck!

If the tiles are 9"x9" assume they are asbestos. Never sand, scrape, pulverize, or agitate existing VAT, or VCT. You can pick them up off the floor if they are dislodged without worry, but I know you can have them tested to be sure

Be sure to let your new floor acclimate to your room temp. for at least 48 hrs. this is especially important if you are installing floor in the winter.
Why do Chinese eat sitting on the floor?
It's simply how their culter teches them to sit.
The Chinese sit in chairs or stools. The stools may be very short making it appear as if they are sitting on the floor. Chairs were reportedly introduced to China around 700 years ago. The Japanese, however, do sit on the floor to eat. They feel that digestion and circulation is better. The Chinese still have lots of customs that they practice and live by, but their culture had nothing to do with sitting on the floor or in a chair. 700 years ago and longer, people were still learning how to make things but first someone had to have a need or want for the idea to be born.
What is the difference between hardwood and engineered wood floors?
Engineered wood floors are made of a plywood with a layer of solid wood on top. These floors allow wood to go where traditionally it could not like a cement sub floors or a sub grade level of your home.
Engineered wood is sometimes called a remodel floor because it is more often thinner then solid hardwood. This allows a homeowner to more easily transition between floors that are close in height. They can be refinished, although depending on the thickness of the wood top, it may need to be professionally done. These floors are almost always prefinished. You will find engineered wood floors that are glue down, floating, and staple down.
Another benefit of engineered wood is cost. Some more exotic species of wood are very expensive. Engineered woods allow manufactures ways to produce floors in a more budget friendly floor.
Solid hardwood floors have time on their side. The tongue and grove style boards have been used in homes for generations. The live expectancy of the floor is 100 + years with proper care. They allow for much easier repair then a laminate or engineered wood and can be easily refinished my an informed DIY.
In the past, you only saw solid would in floors 3/4" or even thicker. Today though, there are solid wood floors as thin as 3/8" which allow it to go into an area a ticker floor couldn't.
You can find solid wood unfinished if you wish to stain it and polyurethane it yourself or prefinished for quicker installation.
Engineered wood floors are made like plywood. They are made up of several layers, mostly of a less expensive wood. The top layer is made of hardwood.
Solid hardwood floors, on the other hand are solid hardwood the entire thickness.
An engineered wood floor may have only 1/16" or so of hardwood on the surface, where a solid wood floor might be a 1/2" or more.
Engineered wood tends to be more stable - it is less likely to move or warp with changes in humidity or temperature. This is because the different layers of wood have the grain running in different directions. They are a good choice over a cement slab floor, and are frequently installed by being glued down.

Generally foam back carpets are not high quality. You wouldn't want to put them in your heavily trafficed living room. Typically they are used for second bedrooms, a play room, or an area that wouldn't get a lot of traffic. Maybe one you expect to replace the carpet often.

Your room measurement is 15x15 how much tile you need tile is 12x12?
First of all, assuming you're talking about porcelain or ceramic tile, your tiles are not exactly 12 inches by 12 inches. They're a quarter of an inch smaller, in both directions. Or 11-3/4" x 11-3/4". This is so you can space them a quarter inch apart and still have everything on a square-foot basis. Also, you need to be more precise about the measurements of your room. Is it exactly 15 x 15, down to the sixteenth of an inch? Are you measuring the walls? Or the floor area, not including the width of the trim (baseboards and/or quarter-round). If you laid out a 15 x 15 grid of tiles, with a quarter-inch spacing between them, it would cover an area of 14' 11-3/4" square. Your tile should be overlapped about a quarter inch by the trim, so say 14' 11". If either dimension of your room (not including the width of the trim) is larger than this, you will need to use 16 tiles in that direction. Assuming that both dimensions are smaller than 14' 11", you will need a 15 x 15 - tile layout, for a total of 225 tiles. If one dimension is smaller than that, but the other one is larger, you will need 15 x 16 = 240 tiles. If both dimensions are larger than 14' 11", you need a 16 x 16 grid, for a total of 256 tiles. However, either way, you need to buy around 10% more than what you think you need, because you're going to have problems that result in tiles getting wasted. If you're talking about the cheap linoleum or plastic tile that is meant to be butted right up against each other, then you can assume they are exactly 12 inches, but you still want at least a quarter-inch overlap by the trim, so your cutoff is 14' 11-1/2".
Can you silicone on top of tile grout?
It depends were you want to do this. If you are talking in the corners of the bathroom, round the tub, or where the counter and back splash meet, then yes. But, if you would like to do this in all the grout lines, no.
