David Coulthard has a long Formula one career. He began his career for the Williams team in the year 1993 and was part of F1 racing as part of McLaren Mercedes and then finally Red Bull Racing till the year 2008 when he retired. His best career finish was 2nd in the overall standings in the year 2001 when he drove for McLaren. He has never won the drivers championship. No, David Coulthard has never won the F1 world championship. His highest finish in the championship was second in the drivers championship in 2001.

The 2007 Formula One season was the 58th FIA Formula One World Championship season. It began on 18 March and ended on 21 October after seventeen Grands Prix. The Drivers' Championship was won by Ferrari driver Kimi Räikkönen by one point at the final race of the season, making Räikkönen the third Finnish driver to take the title. An appeal by McLaren regarding the legality of some cars in the final race could have altered the championship standings, but on 16 November, the appeal was reportedly rejected by the International Court of Appeal, confirming the championship results. Räikkönen entered the final race in third position in the drivers' standings, but emerged as champion after the chequered flag, a feat that had been accomplished only by Giuseppe Farina in 1950. A major talking point of the season had been an espionage controversy involving Ferrari and McLaren, which led to McLaren being excluded from the World Constructors' Championship. As a result, Ferrari clinched the championship at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Micheal has a record 250 GP starts to his career out of which nearly two thirds are with the Scuderia Ferrari team. Out of these he was won a record 92 races in his career which is the most individual races won by a F1 driver. Also he has 7 world championships to his already impressive resume.

Wings provide what is commonly known as downforce. This form of drag forces the cars into the ground when the car is traveling at significant speed, and increases as a function of speed. This downward force allows much more grip in turns due to the car "weighing" more as it is pushed into the car, because friction is equal to the coeficient of friction multiplied by the weight of the object (Or force adhering the surfaces together). So, although they do indeed make the cars go faster around turns, these wings significantly reduce top speed as well as acceleration due to the tremendous drag that they produce.

NASCAR also race around a oval of track, in formula one they race around differntly designed tracks for around 60-70 laps, while NASCAR race up to 300 or more laps, but not often

A third person you could be thinking of is the other Austrian World Champ, Jochen Rindt. He died while practicing for the 1970 Italian Grand Prix, also at Monza. He later won the drivers' championship of that same year postumously, when no-one could surpass his points total.

180 litres, I believe, however all cars are under-fueled for the race so the driver must save fuel to make it to the end of the race, but this also makes the car lighter in the early stages of the race.

It is hard to speculate on the production cost of a tyre, because teams do not pay for the single tyre, a complete set or all used tyres on a weekend anymore. Nowadays all teams pay a flat fee between 2.5 and 4.5 million Euro per season to their tyre supplier Pirelli.

That sounds a lot initially, but you have to take into account the total numbers and what else comes with it. For each of the 20 race weekends in the 2012 Formula 1 season, Pirelli provides each team with 144 tyres. That amounts to 36 sets or 18 sets per driver for each race. Any tyres, no matter if used or not, are returned to Pirelli who destroys and recycles them.

If you were to calculate a price out of that, you'd get to a range of ~875-1600 Euro per tyre, but it's not the whole truth.

The tyre supplier does more than supply the black gold. The flat fee comes with technical support and a free tyre engineer and who knows what else. Also, teams do not necessarily pay the (full) sum but pay in other ways, like with sponsor displays on their cars.

With no power steering and accelerations of up to 6gs, driving an F1 car is a huge physical feat. In addition the cars are so reliant on downforce, going slowly means that they lose most of their grip and the sheer power-weight ratio means the slightest mistake will send the car into a spin. F1 drivers - even the ones dragging a car round to come in last are hugely talented.

Lewis Hamilton won the 2010 Canadian Grand Prix. He started the race on pole position after he finished fastest during qualifying. He continued the form and finished in 1st position. However Robert kubica had the fastest lap of the race.

Nelson Piquet won the drivers world championship in the year 1983. He drove for the Brabham-BMW team. He won only 3 races that season. Alain Prost was the runner up that season and he won 4 races that season.

Lewis Hamilton made his F1 debut in the year 2007 alongside Spanish double formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso. From 2008 Finnish driver Heikki Kovaleinen is his team mate. His second season with McLaren saw him achieve his first pole position at Silverstone and his first victory at Hungaroring, becoming the 100th driver to win a Formula One Grand Prix. He remained with the team for the 2009 season.
