By the end of the movie everything had come full circle. Forrest got to marry the girl of his dreams, become a father, and become a millionaire. Lt. Dan got new legs made of titanium and although Bubba died, Forrest kept his promise and Bubba's mama didn't have to be a maid anymore. Too bad life doesn't always turn out this well.

Although there are many historical facts and events within the movie, it is still fiction. The bumper sticker inventor and the smiley face tee-shirt guy were certainly for entertainment entirely.

Forrest Gump was too busy saving everyone else. By the time he found his friend Bubba, he was too far gone.

The inspiration for the novel was a real man named Samuel Davis, Jr. I believe the real Forrest had a form of autism. He was also a war hero. Forrest Gump, the movie, did revolve around many true historic events in American life from the 1950's through the 1980's.

Although the movie never identifies the march leader it was based on Jerry Rubin, a real-life protester that was in Washinton DC at that historic march.

Gump travelled all over the world. Vietnam during the war, China to play ping pong, down south to fish for shrimp, across the US at least three times during his running days and finally back home to Greenbow, Alabama.

The only one I can think of is Mrs. Gump. Bubba died in Viet Nam and Jenny died of AIDS which cannot be considered natural.

That's tough because that are both popular, but I would say Forest Gump. People seem to know about both, but they seem to like forest gump better.

The lighthouse in Forrest Gump is Marshall Point Light in Port Clyde, Maine. It sits on a rocky outcrop right Port Clyde harbor just around the peninsula to the right. Distant family of ours are the owners of the lighthouse and maintain the small museum that is there as well.

Forrest did a tour of duty in Vietnam. He described his experience there as taking long walks looking for a guy named Charlie. When their platoon was attacked, Forrest pulled five of his mates to safety and later received the Medal of Honor for his bravery.
