The real Forrest Gump's name is George Woods, who was autistic. As with many autistic people, Woods was gifted in a particular subject, his being math. In the movie when Gump has finished running and turns to go home, he states the years, months, days, hours and minutes of his cross-country trips. That's how Woods summed things up also, all in his head without paper/pencil or calculator.

The song is called "Let's Work Together," by Wilbert Harrison, and is performed by Canned Heat. It is NOT on the Forrest Gump soundtrack, however (not all the songs that were in the movie are on the soundtrack).

The role of Bubba Gump in the 1994 film Forest Gump was played by the American actor Michael T. "Mykelti" Williamson. The actor was born in March 1957.

The movie has so much going for it that it is hard to pick one thing. The acting performances are exceptional, the soundtrack is loaded and complements the original score by Alan Silvestri. The cinematography and editing pull a very complicated storyline into a cohesive, clear story and the writing is clean. One of the best lines in the movie is when Bubba asks Forrest if he's every seen a real shrimp boat and Forrest replies, "No, but I've seen a real big boat."

That was Haley Joel Osment, who later went on to 'see dead people' in Sixth Sense.

The era for the movie Forrest Gump began in the 1950's through the 1980's. Gump lived in the mythical town of Greenbow, AL.

Bubba didn't really have a famous line. Except for his long, long list of ways to cook shrimp.

There actually is no song playing when Forrest is shot. The song "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield plays when they are walking in the jungle in the rain, and when the rain stops, the song stops, and then they get attacked. There isn't another song until the next scene.

It is 141 minutes long (2 hours and 21 minutes).

In the movie "Forrest Gump" we are not told Forrest's specific age/birthday. However, if we assume that he was the same age as Jenny, we know that she was born in 1945 since it was engraved on her headstone. We can further assume that they are the same age because they seemed to finish high school and go on to college at the same time.

He said Life is a Box of Chocolates, and his name was Forrest Gump, though he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, he gave Jenny all his love.

When Hanks won, he became the first person since Spencer Tracy in 1937 and 1938 to win back-to-back Best Actor Oscars. Hanks had won the year before for his performance in the 1993 film "Philadelphia."

Just as Mrs. Gump said, Forrest had to find his own destiny, his own purpose on this earth. So it was the journey, not the ending, that was Forrest's calling. He affected many people in a positive way from beginning to end. It's what we are all meant to do, help our fellow humans wherever that leads us.

Forrest Wood died on July 22, 1996, in Los Angeles, California, USA.

I have read it was $100,000 for the role of the child Forrest Gump but cannot confirm.

The film is rated PG-13 in the U.S. by the Motion Picture Association of America for "drug content, some sensuality and war violence"
