What is the difference between a star and the milky way?
The milky way is where there is a lot of stars at each end of the galaxy And a star is a matter mostly of gas pressured together
Galaxies were made by God from the beginning of time.
Answer:
The scientific opinion is that galaxies result from the gravitational attraction of matter into stars and the interactions of the stars to form clusters of swirling stars.. The matter originated in the "Big Bang" that was the beginning of the Universe some 15 billion years ago.
What are the different types of galaxies in the universe and what do they look like?
we won't be able to answer this question for another 200 years!
a white supergiant and the brightest star in the constellation Cygnus, with an apparent magnitude of 1.25; located at one end of the Nortern Cross
Why can you not see the spiral shape of the milky way galaxy?
Because we are in one of its arms, and it has a fairly flat profile, so we see into it edge-on. If the Solar System was somewhere off the galaxy's central plane it would appear as a vast sheet of hazy light rather than a narrow band, but we would still probably be too close and too oblique to it to see its spiral form.
The term "Big Bang" was coined by the English astrophysicist Fred Hoyle in 1949.
The evidence we have indicates that the universe began approximately 13.8 billion years ago in what we call the Big Bang. Hoyle championed a rival "steady state" cosmological theory, but he insisted that the term "big bang" was not meant derisively, but was simply a descriptive way to distinguish the theories.
Though the Big Bang suggests a colossal explosion, it wasn't really an "explosion" in the sense that we understand it. Rather, it was a sudden and colossal expansion.

How did the star castor get its name?
Castor is one of the twin sons of Zeus and Leda along with Pollux the twins of the constellation Gemini.
How many years will we get a message from the BX442 galaxy?
Since BX442 is a spiral galaxy 10,700 million light years from us, it will take 10,700 million years per second for the message to reach its intended designation (and an additional 10,700 million years per second for any reply from an alien civilization in the BX442 galaxy).
Spiral Galaxy. Your Welcome =)
Who was the astronomer or scientist that first discovered the stars?
Who was the astronomer or scientist that first discovered the stars? It was you. It happened when you were very young. You were so young that you had not learned to walk or talk yet, so you don't remember. You just looked up to the sky one dark evening, and there they were!
Pleiades is an open cluster of stars. Most are hot B type stars so it will have a temperature of about 10,000 -> 30,000 K so will appear blue to blue white.
Further than you'll ever reach. Ask Chuck Norris for his help. :)
What galaxy has a bulge like hub in the center?
Nearly all spiral galaxies, including our own, have such a feature.
Why are you able to see stars that might no longer exist?
Because we are observing the stars as they *where* not as they are now.
If we look in the night sky, we see stars, some are close, some are further away.
If we view, say Betelgeuse, we are seeing it as it was 640 years ago, because that is how far away from us it is in light years. For all we know it may have exploded as a supernova 639 years ago, but we won't know for another year.
So the stars you are viewing in the night sky, is what a star looked like, depending on the distance from us.
When will Andromeda Galaxy collide?
The Milky Way galaxy and the Andromeda galaxy are moving towards each other that a rate that will make them "collide" in about three and a quarter billion years. "Collide" is in quotes, because galaxies are mostly empty space, so it's fairly unlikely that any of the individual stars making up the two galaxies will physically touch as a result of the "collision"; instead, the two galaxies will just merge into a larger one.
Are there other galaxies with life?
Yes, meant scientist believe that Pluto and or Neptune may have life on them.
What is it called when a larger galaxy consumes a smaller galaxy?
It's called an Intergalactic collision or Interacting Galaxy. Where a galaxy is consumed, or more correctly "merges" is called galactic cannibalism.
How far is the Whirlpool Galaxy?
The Whirlpool Galaxy or M51a (NGC 5194) is one of the brightest and picturesque galaxy in the sky, and is located in the constellation Canes Venatici. It is approximately 23 million light years from us
What galaxy is the constellation Taurus in?
All of the constellations that people have ever invented, and all the stars you can see
with your eyes, are in the Milky Way Galaxy.
The nearest other galaxy ... the so-called "Andromeda Galaxy" ... is technically visible to the
naked eye. But it's not easy to see, and it's not bright enough to have been included in any
constellation that people invented and made up stories about. And there's definitely no way
you can possibly see individual stars in it.
What are some character vs nature examples?
I'm supposing you mean in a literary sense (external conflict). If so, then
A character struggling with
an earthquake
hurricane
blizzard,
or any other weather related thing
It could also be something such as a landslide blocking the road, or anything else nature relating that hinders (in one way or another) the protagonist of a story.
