I have never heard of a real leopard gecko with a blue tail. If you saw something like that on youtube or something I'm pritty shure it's a fake.

They are endangered, if you want to see one go 2 the Auckland war memorial museum, Arataki visitor centre in titirangi, the reptile park in Leigh or Auckland Zoo, to put information on the internet about there wereabouts in the wild would be detromental to their population, you probably wanna know so u kan capture them and keep them, & if not others will if they read an answer to this question, i suggest you remove this question for the sake of the species

you really want to keep lizards as they eat all the other bugs and are pretty much scraid of us so they stay hidden. But really the only way is to use a bug spray and then make sure all your outside openings are sealed off so they can't get back in. Openings are usually around sinks.

Social lizards ? The ONLY lizard you should be putting in with a gecko - is another gecko - and then only if (a) you want to breed or (b) they're both female. Two males together will fight !

I don't know if this a defense or merely a way to escape being eaten, but most species of geckos can detach their tail when they get scared or when it is grabbed. It will grow back later.

Research a LOT about leopard geckos. Show your parents how much you know about them and get really into them as in print photos of them and stick it on your wall. When your parents ask to feed, clean up or do anything for your pets do it without arguing or do it without them even asking. Save up all the money for it so they don't pay any of it. This all may take a few months. Show all your care for your pets and don't let your parents do any taking care of for your present pets. Do heaps of chores that your parents normally do because that will make them happy. Talk about how much you like them and how interested you are in them go crazy about them. Once you have done this they will see how much you really like them and one day when they are both having the day off kindly ask them about you buying one. If they sat art asking you questions be honest and say how good you are with the other pets tell and show them that you have the money and if they say no still keep calm and show your interest in them and what you like about them. if they get aggravated still keep calm and ask them in a months time and show them how serious you are about this.

golden geckos are solitary creatures, only visiting one of the same species during breeding season.

when they are a decent size so that they can compete for the food they can get bullied especially if there are a few together and the adults can be greedy and have larger apitites you could alaways feed the younger ones with tweezer(non pointed ones please) you can buy special ones for this use their only a couple of pound,then you will know it is getting enough food.

I've had my Leopard gecko for sixteen years now and they have been known to live for as long as twenty five years. As for being a good pet, they are hardy little critters and can go with out food for quite a bit but they are nocturnal and so you wont see it a lot and I should imagine a ten year old would soon get bored of having a pet they never or hardly get to see. On the other hand I used to have a couple of green anoles and if I ever get back into keeping Lizards they would be my choice. They don't live as long but they are very lively do funny little dances and change colour from brown to green. Also a friend of mine all so had an anole that was tame enough for him to take out with him.

It doesnt really matter as long as you have enough space. Two is probably the better option because they would live in small groups in the wild. Two males should NEVER be housed together, so you should either have a male and a female or two females.

Dont have pics, but if you have an adult the male will have prominant femoral pores above the vent. Females have them also, but the males will have a waxy discharge that can be squeezed out like a zit. Also the gonads at the base of the tail will be enlarged. Search online for pics.
