Yes. Ghosts are spirits. It's the living soul out of a dead body. You can see right through them. They come through walls, doors, maybe even floors. But yes, they are spirits out of bodies that are no longer alive.

Unless you have a polterguist or are psycic, it is normally quite hard to tell if you are haunted. Normally the signs are the feelings of anothers presence, objects moving around or just generally a bad feeling. not all ghosts are bad however, and if you get the chace to acually see one try and talk to it. you may be quite surprised ;)

I have found that the best way to spot ghosts are in photographs. Ghosts come through in photographs as orbs of light. A lot of people will think this is a glare or a trick of the camera, but with digital cameras, it is much easier to see what you're taking a picture of and see for yourself that there is no glare. If you have the right environment, and you are seeing orbs in pictures, then you are seeing ghosts!

Not necessarely. If you pay attention to most legends, you can noticed that ghosts are mostly strong emotions and feelings (pretty much only the bad ones, such as hatred, envy and such) left behind by the deceased, usually ones who died out of unnatural causes that intensified these feelings in them. So ghosts mostly don't have a conscience, and act following the emotions which they're made of. Spirits are things with a conscience, a mind, somewhat akin to a human, but from a different race since the beginning, not necessarely something left behind by the deceased.
