When there is too much uric acid in the blood it reaches a saturation point at which it starts to turn back into a crystal. Uric acid is usual cleared from the system through the kidneys with urine, however sometimes to much may be produced or there is a problem with the kidney to clear it.

High uric acid can cause the development of what is called gout. Uric acid is produced when the body metabolises purines from foods such as animals and plants that are made up of cells. If the kidney is not able to filter out enough uric acid then uric acid in the blood reaches saturation point and starts to form crystals, typically the first place that starts to hurt is the joint in the big toe however it can affect many other joints of the body. and damage the kidney if ignored.

Is lady finger safe for uric acid patient?

The disease is known as Gout and when the uric acid is not controlled in the blood, it gives lots of pain and agony to the joints such as great toes, ankles, knees, elbows and other joints of the body. The uric acid crystals get their place in joints only and they damage the kidney also when not treated on time. I have visited many doctors for a best cure but they had nothing except for Allopurinol tablets (expels uric acids), ranitidine (controls acidity) and finally different kind of pain killers. The pain some time subsided and some time came back. I did not believe doctors after few weeks and searched for the main root cause. I was happy to get an answer that it is due to eating and drinking disorders where the Metabolism rate slows down. Immediately, I kept myself on strict diet of one pulse only (It is called Moong Daal in India which has minimum protein) without adding oil and spices. In vegetables, I took only bitter gourd and lady finger fried on fry pan adding 5 drops of cooking oil, few cut pieces of onion, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste. No rice. I ate only wheat flour Indian bread. I had stopped consuming milk, yoghurt and butter milk totally. All sour fruits, pickle and any thing in sour in nature were not in my list. I used to take carrots, radish and cucumber for salad. Fruits like watermelon and muskmelon were always in my diet. I used to drink at least 10 litres of water daily to expel uric water. This lasted for 9 months and I could reduce my weight drastically. I used to take allopurinal tablets to expel uric acid and ranitidine to control acidity. I took pain killers also whenever I needed to get rid of pain. The pain slowly subsided and I felt better but I used to feel a little pain in my left knee. Due to the uric acid and severe pain, I could not wear shoes for almost one year and remained on slippers only. Since the pain still existed in my left knee, I started taking one tablet of Spirulina daily and within a month, the knee pain also vanished. I took Spirulina for almost three years without fail. From August 1999 onwards, my smoking and drinking drastically came down to minimal and on 31st December 1999, I completely gave up smoking, drinking and non-vegetarian food. From January 2000, I started meditating regularly and this helped me a lot. I went for six tests in August 2000 and all the results were negative. Today, it is almost six years and with the grace of God, I do not have any symptom of increased uric acid and eat all vegetables, all kinds of pulses, fruits, and drink milk, consume yoghurt and butter milk also. There is no better cure for excess uric acid than changing your dietary habits. You uric acid count is in a larger scale. Please follow the above path and drink lots of water essential to expel uric acid. If constipated, correct your bowel movement. In this disease, the digestive enzymes die totally due to sedentary habits and eating disorders and the metabolism slows down. I have taken lots of efforts since this I can understand your sufferings.
