Onboard graphics (also known as integrated graphics) typically have lower end specifications than a separate GPU. A discrete GPU has more processing power since it doesn't clog up the CPU and main RAM and generally has more advanced functions (e.g. my current computer uses a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator and cannot play newer games which require Pixel Shader and Vertex Shader since those functions are not supported). Hence, if you have a choice between the two, take the one with a separate GPU.

Are you trying to disable onboard video so you can install a pci video card? If so you have to disable onboard video in your computers bios. Then install your video card in an empty pci slot. Then install the drivers for your pci card in windows.

Well my friend, I did some research and found out that they are pretty close to a tie. This is because in some ways the radeon is better and in other ways it's not. In one big way that the 280 is better than the radeon is that the 280 has exactly ywice the memory as the radeon but it's your choice. I most likely get the radeon. Sadly you cannot. If yoou use it correctly, GLSL is so realistic that if you don't have a top notch graphics card, it wont even come close to working. Sorry i couldn't be of more help.

The graphics card is compatible with the motherboard however, you will need a larger power supply. You currently have a 300w power supply whereas you need a 350w. Most likely, this will prevent it from working properly

it is always better to have a independent video card then the onboard video chipset, because the onboard chipset uses the ram from the motherboard and a independent video card has its own ram to use and never uses the systems ram. so all in all, your computer will run games better with a independent video card then a onboard chipset.
