Harry Houdini died at age 52 on October 31st, 1926. He died when he had challenged the world that he could absorb ( I guess that word works here...) any punch to his appendix. A man by the name of J. Gordon Whitehead ( I'm not sure if this is the correct spelling.... sorry :S ) took his offer and caused Houdini an inflammation of his appendix, causing him much pain. He died a few days later ( sob, sob. ). And that was the peculiar ending to, in my opinion, the greatest magician of all time.

Cecilia Steiner (1841-1913) spoke Hungarian and English. She may also have spoken Yiddish.

Houdini's greatest mistake may have resulted in his death at the age of 52. In the fall of 1929, he suffered from appendicitis for several days but refused medical treatment despite serious pain.

He continued to travel without treatment, and died in Detroit on October 31, 1929 of peritonitis caused by a ruptured appendix.

Well obviously magic is one of them, but Houdini loved sports. He would spend hours a day running, swimming and even boxing. He also loved to read. In fact, he read so much, that he had too many books. To solve the problem he hired a ull time librarian for his home.

among other things, anti-semitism, he changed his given name Weiss, to Houdini, but word got out. a recent biography of the escape artist deals with some tasteless slurs and also his intriguing combatant ( war) on spiritualism and conflict with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle- the father of Sherlock Holmes- who was an avoved spiritist.

Houdini died long ago.

Houdini became famous because he joined the circus. First he started out as just a sideshow, but slowly worked his way up to a main act. Houdini then was tired of so much traveling so he quit to study magic more.

Many guys punched Harry Houdini, it was a common Houdini stunt that he frequently invited people to do to demonstrate how he could not be hurt. Nothing happened to any of them as Houdini wanted them to punch him.

If you mean the guy that caught Houdini by surprise before he could prepare as he needed to for this to prevent injury, probably contributing to the ruptured appendix that killed Houdini a couple weeks later - nothing. He likely suffered from self imposed guilt though.

Remember, Harry Houdini's act involved inviting punishment and potential injury and appearing to be unaffected!

No as it was not so common in those days.

Harry Belafonte is a famous singer and actor because he is very good at what he does.

Most likely it was a world wide recession, his father was a Hungarian imigrant.
