--harry finds out that sirius is really his godfather and that pettigrew was the "secret holder"(or whatever it was :P) to protecting harry's parents.....and harry and Hermione go back in time to be able to save buckbeak and sirius(who everyone thinks is a mass murderer)

The third novel is mainly about Sirius Black, Harry's godfather, breaking out of Azkaban prison along with his relationship to Harry Potter. As he is considered an extremely dangerous criminal, the ministry of magic search thoroughly for Sirius. People around Harry warn him to be careful because they believe that Sirius was the person who originally betrayed James and Lily Potter (Harry's parents) by revealing their location to Voldemort, who later kills the couple. However, it is discovered that Peter Pettigrew was the real betrayer. Hermione and Harry travel back in time to change things so that they can free Sirius Black.

The main setting of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, as always (apart from in the 7th book), is Hogwarts. Most of the book is set in Hogwarts, but they do spend alot of their time either with Hagrid or somewhere in the forest.
