I also started taking supplements that (as I've understood from some google searches) help to strengthen the arterial walls (I'll mention the brand names but the same pills may not be available everywhere):

-butcher's broom extract (3 x 100 mg a day) (supplement's name: Butcher's Broom; brand name: Now)

-aescin (3 x 210 mg a day, each pill also contains 120 mg vitis vinifera and 70 mg butcher's broom extract) (supplement's name: Venal Xtra; brand name: Bional)

-Some off-brand pills containing 500 mg of vitamin C and 100 mg of bioflavanoids, twice a day

-and for good measure, multi vitamin&mineral and fish oil pills.

According to Wikipedia, "hamamelis (witch-hazel) helps to shrink and contract blood vessels back to normal size, hence its use as the active ingredient in many hemorrhoid medications". So I started using a hemorrhoid-ointment that contains hamamelis, about twice a day (my ointment's probably not available outside the Netherlands, but similar products are. It's called Hamameliszalf, brand name: A. Vogel).

Another ointment I started using twice a day is a diaper rash cream, strange as that may sound, because it contains zinc oxide (the cream is called Sudocrem). I read a comment somewhere online that zinc oxide helps shrivel hemorrhoids.

I also read somewhere that chamomile helps, so I started to drink at least one strong cup of chamomile tea a day.

Maybe all of these measures were effective, or some of them, or one of them, I don't know. Or maybe even none of them; my hemorrhoid might have decided to retreat all on its own. Nevertheless I think its best to try as much remedies as you can, within reason. And It's probably best to have a medical doctor take a look at it, which was my plan B.

Hi, there are many things you can do to help rid yourself of hemorrhoids, however, for starters to shrink it down get yourself an icecube and some thin underwear. Wrap the icecube once over it so there is one layer of cotton between you and the ice. Then lie down on your side on the bed and place it directly on the hemorrhoid. Yes, it will be very cold, but it will help shrink it down, same as if you sprained your ankle.

If it is an internal hemorrhoid you won't be able to this, so you'll have to instead work on prevention and eating certain foods which help strengthen the vein walls.

I would say yes. after sex some pain can be normal. it can come from your boyfriend/ husband thrusting too deeply or if you had "rough" sex. it can also come from the penis hitting the "top" of your vagina. no worries.

if its not rough sex as above poster says and it is regular (ie happens every time you have sex), that is a worry!

there is all kinds of reasons for it and they mostly are medical, i suggest you go see your doctor about it because leaving it will not help and probably only make it worse and it could be something that can easily be sorted.

this is my second time getting hemmorroids and this time it is much bigger. last time i used the cream but i kept getting skid marks on my underwear im a 15 year old boy i dont wanna go around school smelling bad all day please help me
