The best thing I have found for menopause has been BHRT, Pellet therapy The Pellet therapy has been a GOD SEND! There isn't much talk on this board about it and it definitely goes against all the conventional wisdom of loading us up with more estrogen. If you can't think outside the box, don't even go see a pellet therapy clinic. If you can listen & are open to a better way, you should at least go.

Their philosophy won me over & it works for me so no hate mail please, I'm healthy & happy, that's all I care about.

* Their premise is that menopausal & post menopausal women, don't need supplemental Estrogen

* Their premise is that the worst days we have in our cycle are the days when our estrogen is the highest...PMS.

* The Dr at my clinic (a female!) even inelegantly called estrogen the B***H Hormone.. Like I said if you are too sensitive to listen, Do Not Go.

* Their premise is that pre-menopausal my body made testosterone & then converts it to estrogen & progesterone as my body needed it. They also say that since I haven't had a Hysterectomy it will still convert if I get testosterone!

* Their premise is that by giving testosterone & letting my body make what it needs, It would get me off the roller coaster & it did!

* The pills, patches & creams all spike your system because they hit you pretty fast, the pellets last 90 days & are very slow to dissolve & are absorbed from my fat buttocks. That happens slowly.

I had to leave my belief in the sacred estrogen and the Dr that had been my light & hope, but I later realized had also been the one that had sold me the ticket to the roller coaster..

I have now been taking Natural Hormone Pellet therapy for 3 years and the hot flushes are gone, joint pain gone, I sleep great & have energy for the grandkids & my sex drive is almost too much but that is hot too.

Can you cath STD after a hysterectomy?

Yes! You absolutely can get std's after a hysterectomy. A hysterectomy involves the removal of the uterus and sometimes the ovaries as well. A sexually transmitted disease (std) is an infection which is transmitted sexually during intercourse; vaginal, anal or oral. During sexual contact a person who is infected passes the virus or bacteria to his/her partner via body fluids such as; semen, saliva, vaginal secretions, and blood. These diseases can include, but are not limited to; Chlamydia Gonorrhea HIV, Hepatitis, Syphilis, Yeast and a host of other infections. Whether or not you have a uterus/ovaries does not preclude you from contracting these diseases as many of them pass into the blood stream and attack multiple sites within the body, not just sexual organs. If you think you may have had sexual contact with an infected person, you must seek medical help right away. Most of these diseases are symptom free initially, or mimic other conditions such as the flu. Some of these diseases are deadly, such as HIV, Hepatitis, Syphilis. If you do not have health insurance, go to a community health clinic or Planned Parenthood. In some cases your cost may be waived or substantially reduced if you qualify financially.
