What is the least amount of time left in any hockey game that a goal has been scored?

I believe my son Colton Wilkinson holds that record (although we are still awaiting confirmation). He scored with 0.1 seconds left in the 3rd period to win the game. We were told any less time the game would be over and no goal would have counted. The greatest thing is he is only 9 years old and may hold the Guiness Record for this. Way to go Colton !

If anyone can help us out with confirming this please contact me. Thanks!

How did the Minnesota wild get their name?

By what I know about the Minnesota Timberwolves on there website. They had lots of teams in the NBA and the ABA. The first team you probably know is the Minneapolis Lakers. Obviously they got that name from the amount of lakes they have their in their neck of the woods. Then they moved the Lakers to Los Angelos. Next for only two months we had the Minnesota Muskies. They were named after the abundant muskies up north in Minnesota (ABA). Next, for 3 months in the (ABA) The Minnesota Pipers were made. I don't exactly know why they named them that, but I believe they named it that after the Pipelines that were in the Mesabi Range. Next/Finally, the Timberwolves were made. The team was getting into debt so they ALMOST moved it to New Orleans (which started their own team the [Hornets].) But they named it that after the abundance of the Timberwolf or GREY WOLF in Minnesota.

When was air hockey invented?

In the original period around the beginning of the 20th century, a few manufacturers began to make gloves and leg pads for players. The gloves had some padding on the figers and the back of the hand, with horsehair as the stuffing. The leg pads had narrow stiched vertical pads and agains they had horsehair stuffing and a bendable knee section. As the game evolved, shoulder and elbow pads were developed, as were goalie pads. The materials were all natural with leather and wool and canvas for different parts. By the 1950's the use of plastic and foam padding was common. By the 1980's the use of synthetic materials and ballistic nylon was seen. Now the modern hockey equipment is light but strong and no leather is used as it rots too quickly. The only exception to that are the gloves, which still have a leather palm for a better grip on the stick when shooting the puck.
