Electrically non conducting paint does not conduct electricity in any way. This type of paint is an insulator. Standard water-based paints or acrylic paints are normally non conducting paint.

The ULN2803 is a small integrated circuit that contains 8 transistor driver channels. Each channel has an input to a resistor connected to the base of a transistor and a 1 amp open collector output capable of handling up to about 30volts (if my memory is correct). Each of the collectors has a reverse biased diode connected to a common Vcc pin that provides inductive spike protection. Typical uses are for micro-processor interfaces to relays, lamps, solenoids and small motors. A 2803 with a set of relays is a simple and effective way of switching mains voltages for example. They are used less commonly today but were once an almost universal means of interfacing processors to power devices.

There are a number of things that you could die an mold. Clay is one substance you can die and mold.

Pump surging - if a pump doesn't have a minimum flow it will build up discharge pressure. When this discharge pressure gets high enough the pump cannot overcome it any more and the water starts to flow backwards. When the water starts to flow backwards, the pump slows down. The impeller will start to spin backwards building up pressure again. The water inside the pump will shift back and forth wreaking havoc with your pump impeller. This cycle of spinning forwards and backwards will repeat itself and will destroy your thrust bearing and destroy your pump.

This can happen with any type of centrifugal pump, if you block the discharge the pump will build up pressure and surging can take place.

You need to define "metal"- since different metals have VERY different melting points. Mercury is melted at room temp. Gallium can melt in boiling water. Lead and tin are mixed as solder, and melt at fairly low temps. Gold and silver melt at moderate low temps. Aluminum is higher. Im going to tell you how to fix a broken frame. First, you need loctite glue, and a protractor. Get your broken glasses, and frame. Put the glue on the tip of the broken frame. Measure the frame to 90 degrees. Then glue it on. Wait for about an hour or two. Then tada! You have a good frame on your non-broken glasses! Hope this helped. :DDD

providing that you have the proper tig welding equipment (torch,tungsten and inert gas) it is simply switching the polarities on the welding machine. the lead to the torch will be negative and the ground will be positive this is called straight polarity,this application will work with most metals except aluminum which requires a high frequency welding machine A couple of things a home built TIG machine will not have. 1) High frequency start - you will have to scratch start which could leave tungsten contamination in the weld 2) Remote control - one of the nice things about most TIG machines is the ability to adjust the power/heat on the fly. 3) Gas solenoid valves - TIG is usually done with pure Argon gas. This is probably the most expensive shielding gas in normal use. As a result, its usually nice to shut if off. TIG machines have solenoids that do that with timers that shut the gas flow off after a few seconds. I would highly recommend you search "craigslist" for a used Miller TIG. Miller because you can still get parts for them if necessary (I have a 30year old unit going strong!). Just be aware they tend to be heavy with large copper coiled transformers inside. From a cost standpoint, the regulator, gas bottle, torch etc. could set you back $500. An old Miller Dialarc HF is probably that much ready to run (HF = High Frequency starting circuit).

The RC circuit can reduce the phase shift between the voltage and current in the power line. The phase shift is caused by the inductance of the motor.
