The ithaca made 1911A1 was produced in 1943.The serial number range was 856,405-916404.there was a total production for the war effort of 60,000 handguns.Your serial number falls within that range of numbers.

It is a shame that a quality shotgun like the Weatherby

O/U has a forearm that can not handle its own recoil without cracking the forearm. I have always admired the Weatherby.

Now with my Orion O/U 12 ga.

The forearm continues to cracking. In my skeet league, I can know longer recommend a Weatherby

shotgun. Can't handle the continuous shooting.

Do you know the model number? Are the barrels side-by-side or over/under? Does it have exposed hammers or internal hammers? What gauge is it chambered for? What condition is it in? A really rough guess at value for a plain, field-grade Ithica side-by-side 12 gauge made sometime after WWII through the 1960s would be about $200-$300. I have no clue what year your gun was made based on its serial number. Maybe somebody else can help with that.

While you do not mention the grade of your shotgun,I would say that these fine double barrels are going for between 400-1,000 dollars depending on the amount of original finish remaining.this is based on a flues frame gun.You could add 200 dollars for a vent rib barrel,175 dollars for a beavertail forearm,and 200 dollars for a sst(single selective trigger.)

it was made bu Colt in 1918. your slide is probably marked 'Ithaca' which was probably due to fueld cleaning. when pistol were put back together all parts were mixed. the Ithaca slide did NOT go back on the Ithaca frame, it went on yout Colt frame...........

Since Wilkes Barre Gun co was only in business from 1892 to 1895 (then sold to Ithica) I am guessing yours was mfg in 1895 as the s/n break was around 1300 when Ithica took over.
