I can see how you would be confused by this, but the answer is really quite simple. The shark wasn't mature enough to be put in captivity. It was put in too small of a pool that didn't mimic its surrounings. There was not enough room nor oxygen in the tank. The shark was probably also confused on what was going on, so was unable to save itself.

The lighthouse was actually a full scale movie prop, with the backside consisting of 2 by's supporting plywood sheathing. The concrete and other building materials were actually very well textured and painted fiberglass. I remember walking about the thing before the scenes were shot. It was located on the westernmost side of Pensacola beach (Florida) in the Ft. Pickens national park.

There are many different sharks, but I do not know which could be called, "Regular".

But, assuming that you are asking about the shark jaw of a fish, and not the mechanical tool called a, "Shark jaw", the common range is from 2 inches to 15 inches, in my opinion. (There are lots of foot-long sharks in people's aquariums, and of course, in the ocean; hence, the 2" size)
