Apparently, Recording Sessions For The Are You Experienced? Album, Which Was The Jimi Hendrix Experience's Debut Release, Began Sometime In 1966. The Album Was Completed & Released In 1967.

Jimi Hendrix wrote the song, and it was first performed by his band, The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

Jimi's father is James 'Al' Hendrix and his step-mother is Ayako June Hendrix.

His half-brother is Leon and his half-sister is Janie.

Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top was jimi's favorite guitarist. as far as bassist go dusty was one of his favs also Terry Kath.

Phil Keggy was Jimi Hendrix's #1 favorite guitar player. I'm not certain about the above, I've never read anything about that. Possible I suppose.. But I have read about Keggy.

I saw an interview with him on BBC and he said his favorite twin guitarists in one band were Micky Jones and Deke Leonard of Man. I cannot argue with that.

BTW he also thought that the drummer, Terry Williams was great. You know him from Dire Straits..he's the drummer on Money For Nothing

Prior to his rise to fame, he played in many bands including the Isley Brothers and Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames to mention just two.

Bands of his own included "The Jimi Hendrix Experience", "Band of Gypsys" and "The Electric Church".

The cause of his death in 1970 was barbiturate intoxication.

Jimi Hendrix died on September 18, 1970 at the age of 27.

Jimi used stock Fender pickups that sounded different because he was left handed and he took right handed guitars and reversed the guitar and the nut and restrung the guitar that way. The sound was different because the part of the pickup that picked up the high strings would pickup the low strings. You can capture this tone by reversing your pickups.

I think you would need to know the value of his "estate" which would be all his worldly goods and monies he was due to at the time of his death, his estate is probably worth far in excess of what it would have been when he died with all the royalties from record sales since his death

Most addicts know how to use, so this makes me think Jimi wasn't an addict, just a guy who miscalculated his dosages. You have to know your dealer, what he provides, and you learn to judge the dose by using the same stuff over and over. Another case in point; Janice Joplin was no addict, but she liked the occasional hit. She died from an OD as well, using more powerful H than she was used to. I know this for a fact, as I know some of her band mates who were with her at the time. I think Jimi went in the same way. Really a shame.

He played a Fender Stratocaster, a Gibson Les Paul, a Gibson SG all upside down with strings flipped to the left hand position. There was also a custom Paisley Gibson Flying V set for a left handed player.
