Yes, and it must be replaced every 105,000 miles. Warning: This is an interference engine, and as such if the belt breaks you will have severe engine damage.

How do you fix a Chassis Acceleration Sensor Signal Malfunction on a 2003 Kia Spectra?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You can try to replace it. If you have a book on your car, look for a picture of it. You can find it pretty easily in a junk yard if you know where to look. If you have already replaced it, try having the check engine light cleared. If it comes back on, or still reads that error even after replacing the sensor, it may be a bigger problem. It could be in the wiring system or even the computer. Try to replace it first. Instructions will be in the book, and all it involves is unplugging the old sensor and removing two bolts. Installation of the replacement is the reverse.

Where is kia spectra 2006 blower motor resistor located and how much time to change out?

Under the glovebox on the passenger side.

I suspect your blower isn't working anymore right ?

I learned to get into the habit of "tapping" the blower (the circular thing under there- you'll see it) which makes it come on.

Where is the PCV Valve located on a 2006 KIA Spectra 5?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

1. Remove the 4 screws that hold the large plastic engine cover in place. Remove the plastic cover.

2. Looking at the engine from the front (driver's seat will be to your right) you will note the 4 plug wires at the top of the engine. Looking almost directly behind the plug wire on the right, you will notice a BLACK S-SHAPED HOSE running horizontally from the main engine block backwards to the silver colored aluminum breather box at the rear of the engine compartment.

3. YOU WIL NOT IMMEDIATELY see the PCV Valve because it is hidden from view by being wrapped in a 1 inch spongey black rubber fitting on one end of the S-shaped hose mentioned in step 2.

4. Using pliers, compress the clamp and pull loose the S shaped hose.

5. Now use a screw driver to pry off the 1 inch spongey black rubber cover off of the hidden PCV Valve.

6. Once the spongey rubber wrapping is removed, there sits your PCV Valve!!!

It took me several phone calls, and two hours of frustration to figure this out. Hopefully, this helps someone.

How do you compress brake caliper piston for 2005 Kia Spectra?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You need a special brake piston tool to do this. Here is a link that shows what this tool looks like: http://www.lislecorp.com/tool_detail.cfm?detail=416

Basically, you put this on the end of a 3/8 inch drive, then use the side of the tool where the pins match your brake piston. Engage the pins from the tools into the piston slots, press in and turn clockwise. It will take a lot of turns to move it back in the bore.

How do you get your keys out of the ignition if they are stuck?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Try to put it in nutral and shift back into park again. Make sure your steering wheel is in the straight position. Sometimes the wheel will lock if it is turned. Hope this helps.

Sometimes the locking tab that holds the little button you press on the shifter breaks and doesn't allow the electrical system to see that the car is in park which

will not let you remove the key or start the car.

Pull the plastic button out just a bit or all the way off if it's broken, and that will engage the park signal and get you on your way. Ford won't take this as a safety recall. Been there before.

Magiver.

How do you replace the CV joints on a Kia Sephia?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I've never worked on a KIA, but I wanted to give you just a bit of info. Its actually cheaper to buy the right or left axle, not to mention less work. Front wheel drive cars have 4 CV joints. 2 per axle. Just ask for a rebuilt Half-shaft. Good Luck

do not get a rebuilt axle, you will regret it
