How do you make lacrosse mesh softer?
if the weather is rain which i think is pretty much the only way to ruin lacrosse mesh besides leaving it in the sun to long..i dont think there is a way to make the mesh waterproof unless there is somekind of spray or something. but after the mesh gets wet put a small towel or newspaper inside of the head to absorb water. also there is waterproof pockets you can put in your head. one is called a rock-it pocket and there website is http://rock-itpocket.com/ (if you want to look) and you can send your head into them and they will string your head for $50 which is kind of expensive but that is waterproof and it makes you shoot faster. also if you go into your local lacrosse store you can ask for a pocket called a traditional pocket and that is also waterproof. both of those type of pockets are not mesh though. they are i think leather and elastic or something like that. they take a bit to get used to too. hopefully that helps!
How do you tighten a lacrosse stick?
Throwing with a goalie stick should be done in an overhand motion. The release point would be just past the shoulder at 11 o'clock. The difficulty comes in when the stick is strung incorrectly. This is the case with most off the shelf sticks. You want a stringing done so that you have a deep pocket (to catch) and a tight top (to throw). The best way to string is for all the sidewall being taught and when you get to the bottom string locate that string through 2-4 diamonds below where the last sidewall string went through. This allows for a deep pocket down low and slowly rises to a taught mesh towards the top, allowing the ball to roll from the pocket to the shooting strings with ease. Lastly the shooting strings. If you feel the ball bump off the last shooting string then it is too close to the pocket side, move it up a diamond, or remove it all together. I find two shooting strings works best and I do not bother with that 3rd U or V string. With a well done string job it is not needed.
This absolutely awesome sport originated with the North American Indians. The french explorers of the great lakes area saw the Indians played it and named it la crosse after the french name for a bishop's crook, which is what the original sticks looked like.

How do you add whip to a lacrosse stick?
lacrosse sticks have whip for two main reasons. The first is, so that you can have more powere on shots and crisper passes. This is also a downfall of whip. It requires more strength and power to make a pass because it is going on a straight line. Also with whip you can dip your head back farther and wind up more. With whip you may have to change your game style

How does a lacrosse game start?
as you know there are 3 attackmen and defenders on each side of the field, both behind the restraining line. There is also a goalie on each side of the field. There will be 3 middies on each side of the 50 yard line with both teams having their own side. two middies, 1 from each team, will line up on each side of the field crouching down. They will have the outside of their pocket facing the ball with the pocket punched inside out. Not one part of the lacrosse stick can touch the ball as also their sticks must be parrallel. The ref will tell you to go down and when the whistle blows they will both go after the ball. As the other middies can help everyone else must stay behind the restraining line until the ref calls possession.
But the above is just for men's lacrosse. In women's lax, there are 5 middies per team: four around the circle and one in the middle per team. Then there are three low defense and low attackmen behind the restraining line per team. The backs of the heads of the sticks of the two girls in the middle (one for each team) are pressed together with the ball in between. On the whistle, the heads are pulled or pushed up and away, sending the ball through the air. This is called the draw. The ball can go anywhere depending on the skill of the centers; usually it is drawn to a teammate waiting on the circle, but you can draw the ball to yourself; you just have to be tall so you can grab it and gain possession.
Are the rules the same on boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse?
Because the men's game is very violent, legally, so they wear padding. The women's rules do not allow you to hit, we do it anyway and do not wear padding. People seem to think women are incapable and more fragile then men, but we can do whatever we want.
Is lacrosse harder than it sounds?
The difficulty of lacrosse has many factors. Location, effort, level of play and position are the main ones. Location because in the northern states, lacrosse is very popular and the kids are very talented. In the southern states, generally teams are more basic, however there are many advanced and elite teams. Level of play is a factor because when kids hit their growth spurt, there skills flourish and they become much better. Positions are all equally as important, but some are easier than others.
