This is one of those questions with multiple answers, everyone has a different opinion. It is basically a matter of personal preference. What I would think of as the best might be something you absolutely despise.
Here are some suggestions from our contributors.
The Rio Hotel/Casino Buffet is a favorite and a huge selection. $26+
On a budget? go to a place called Ellis Island and order the steak dinner. It isn't on the menu. $5. It's one block off the Strip. My wife and daughter give it thumbs up.

Most casinos in Las Vegas require you to be trained in a Casino Games School, some casinos still train dealers. School can be expensive, they charge up to $800./game, the more games you know the better your chances of getting into a good house. If a casino trains you they don't charge you but sometimes you have to get a gaming card first and there is no guarantee that you will get the job. Unfortunately, some people are not capable to catching on to the different games, they are much easier to play than to deal.

I have been dealing on the Strip in Las Vegas for over five years. First of all, if you have no dealing experience or dealer school training the casinos will not hire you. They aren't in the business of training people. The only way to get a dealing job is to take at class at one of the dealing schools (look up "learn to deal blackjack" in Google). You can learn to deal blackjack in less than two weeks for about $300.
Other games like craps, roulette and poker take much longer to learn and are more expensive, but the important thing is that you only need to learn blackjack to get a dealing job. This qualifies you to audition for a job in a "break in" house which is a smaller casino that accepts new dealers from the schools. There are only a few break-in houses in Las Vegas. Remember, when these break in houses need dealers they call the dealer schools first -- that's the way it works. Even if you learn to deal every game you'll still have to get your first job at a break-in house. You will not be hired at a big casino. The big casinos only hire dealers with years of experience.
Once you are hired you should then take classes in craps, roulette, pai gow and baccarat. You'll need to know these, not to keep your job, but to move up to bigger casinos (where you make bigger tips).
Also remember that poker dealers only deal poker. If you want to be a poker dealer, don't waste your money on learning other games.
You should also not take classes for the "carnival games" like Let-It-Ride, 3-Card-Poker, Casino War and Caribbean Stud. Once you have your first job, another dealer will teach you these games. It only takes a few minutes to learn them.
Another point of confusion is about the gaming cards. First of all, the state no longer issues gaming cards. You can only be licensed by the state when you are hired by a casino. They send the forms, plus your fingerprints, your fee and other information directly to the state gaming office. This licensing will cost you about $100 and you'll renew it every five years.
Things that are important in becoming a blackjack dealer is understanding game protect, customer service skills and the ability to dummy up and deal unless your customer service skills overrides that concept and brings the customer back solely for your dealing.
Blackjack dealer school is not necessary but it is a great idea as is provide a feel of "on the job training" and you will be comfortable with produces and technique so you will be fast(which I what the casino always likes) and less of a liability. It is not necessary but it gives a great leg up. Your casino provides you with a gaming card after you pass a mandatory state drug test that is required for all dealers(A pre-employment drug test). This is of course after you pass an audition on the floor.

As a dealer of 19 years, I have to suggest you avoid becoming a Las Vegas dealer. The economy is horrible, and if you are lucky to find a job, you will likely need 2 jobs to pay your bills. Most casinos only hire for 3-4 days a week, and may push you out with less then 30 hours a week. My worst paycheck was for 33 hours over 2 weeks. Jobs are difficult to find, and experienced dealers will get them first.

No,
The first casino to be built on Highway 91 was the Pair-o-Dice Club in 1931, but the first on what is currently the Strip was the El Rancho Vegas, opening on April 3, 1941, with 63 rooms. That casino stood for almost 20 years before being destroyed by a fire in 1960. Its success spawned a second hotel on what would become the Strip, the Hotel Last Frontier, in 1942. Organized crime figures such as New York's Bugsy Siegel took interest in the growing gaming center leading to other resorts such as the Flamingo, which opened in 1946, and the Desert Inn, which opened in 1950. The funding for many projects was provided through the American National Insurance Company, which was based in the then notorious gambling empire of Galveston, Texas.
3,015 rooms and industry average is 80% ish 2 beds and 20% 1 bed
A little math:
80% X 2 = 4824
20% = 603
5,427 beds estimated
It is unlikely that a hurricane would hit Las Vegas, because it is in the middle of the desert but if it did hit Las Vegas it would probably cause a great amount of devastation.
First of all the hurricane would have to travel across land to get to Las Vegas, which means it would already cause distraction to near by towns or cities like Los Angele's or San Fransisco.
IT would then travel through the metropolitan area of Las Vegas that would cause devastation to homes and residences and leave many people homeless all though quit a few people would of fled to get away from the city.
It would then hit the strip and rip apart many of the million dollar casinos and hotels like Caesar's palace and the Luxor.
The hurricane would through all of the debris and rubble of the buildings into the air, causing more trouble for people if the casinos and hotels had strong skeleton frames it would only cause a minimum of damage.
The strengh of the hurricane would depend on how strong the winds would be.
A very strong hurricane could get up to the wind speeds of 180 mph with cause a lot of damage to the city.
so if a hurricane did hit Las Vegas it would be a good thing to get out of th city or take shelter pretty fast.

No, there's no guards at the city limits checking identification.
Perhaps you mean do you need a valid ID to drink or gamble in Las Vegas, and the answer is yes, unless you look like you're self-evidently over 21.
Underage children are allowed to walk through casinos when accompanied by parents, but anyone who looks like they might possibly be under 21 can expect to find security checking their IDs in short order if they attempt to gamble or even if they pause for very long when walking through a gambling area.
The gaming commission takes this pretty seriously, so most casinos do also. It doesn't matter if your parents are right there with you or not, you are not allowed to loiter in a gaming area if you're under 21.
