Can I use an Identification Card instead of a Driver's License at the casinos in Las Vegas?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Sure you can. However, if you look too young to legally gamble you will be asked for a valid ID, if you cannot produce one you will be asked to leave the premises and you will forfeit any winnings you might have. If you are old enough and you are asked to produce a valid ID and you hit a jackpot that requires a 1099-G be filled out and you do not have a valid ID you will not be paid.

Are there slot machines that take real pennies in Las Vegas?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Along with the El Cortez, there are several other downtown Las Vegas casinos with coin-operated slot machines. Main Street station, the Cal, Las Vegas Club, Mermaids, La Bayou, the Fremont, Fitzgerald's, and the Western combined, have close to one thousand coin slots. Jerry's Nugget and the Poker Palace, a few miles north, also have lots of coin slots.

The Las Vegas Strip is almost all tickets now except for maybe a few at Circus Circus and the Venetian.........I heard that Slots a Fun just converted this year to all tickets.

Other Las Vegas areas with coin slots is the Boulder Hwy area in Henderson, with the Skyline, the Klondike(Sunset), Sam's Town(upstairs maybe), Railroad Pass, and the Hacienda(Boulder City).

One other cool old place nearby, with a few hundred coin slots on the floor, is the Gold Strike in Jean, some 30 miles south on I-15.

Also, Laughlin NV(90 miles south of Vegas).....between the Pioneer, the Riverside, the Golden Nugget, and the Avi, there are close to 1000 coin slots.

How much silver is in a Las Vegas ten dollar token?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There is no silver in any dollar tokens. They are iron with chrome plating. Silver "Ike" dollars were used in the past for casino play, now just tokens are used, because they are not legal tender except in the casino that issues them, for gambling purposes only. ======================================= There is no iron in these tokens. The question was about a $10.00 token, which usually is a "limited edition", encased in clear plastic, and does contain slightly less than 0.6 troy oz of pure silver. The remainder is brass - only the center is silver. They are usually marked: ".999 fine silver" - which is correct for the center portion. When silver was bringing a high price a couple of months ago, many people with these tokens punched out the silver. A few even tried to sell the remaining worthless brass doughnuts on eBay. The tokens are not worth much more than face value, if that.

Are drinks free at all Las Vegas sports-books?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Service!!

Greetings! In most cases (as with virtually all Las Vegas casinos), if you are "active gambling" -- meaning there is a wager in play, and you are in the gaming area of slots, tables or sports book -- you will be served drinks at the casino's discretion. However, if you're just hanging out in the sports book watching a game, don't count on prompt -- or any -- service.

Remember to tip your cocktail waitress at the delivery of each drink, as there's no "tab."

Is card counting in a casino considered illegal?

User Avatar

Asked by Ksmail

No, you can't criminalize a thought process.

True, it is not illegal, but it's really treated like it is.

No, but you can't use any electronic devices or paper or anything to help and don't move your lips when you try to remember because then you'll most likely get kicked out.

Further although card counting, or counting cards, is just play the game extremely well. and this means more winnings for you and less profit for the casino. hence why when you are caught the casino asks you to leave. unfortunately you can't just walk in to the next casino, as they all use face recognition software to advise them of people already caught card counting. but good luck with your exploits!

yes i do agree from zanerr

What is the best casino in Las Vegas?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

This is one of those questions with multiple answers, everyone has a different opinion. It is basically a matter of personal preference. What I would think of as the best might be something you absolutely despise.

Here are some suggestions from our contributors.

The Rio Hotel/Casino Buffet is a favorite and a huge selection. $26+

On a budget? go to a place called Ellis Island and order the steak dinner. It isn't on the menu. $5. It's one block off the Strip. My wife and daughter give it thumbs up.
