Can brown eyes and hazel eyes produce green eyes?

Im not too sure but my mum has light blue eyes and my dad has brown and i ended up with dark blue.

answer:

yes they can my mother has bright blue eyes and my father has dark brown eyes and i have jade green eyes. it all a matter of recesive and dominant genes. blue and green eyes are a recesive gene and brown is dominant. the brown eyed parent would have to have a hidden recesive gene in order to pass on light colored eyes to their children.

What instruments are used during lasik surgery?

There are eye care instruments that can be used at home as well as in a doctors office. Some of these instruments are, refractors, pressure gauges, and glasses.

When can you go back to work after laser eye surgery?

Most patients return to work within one to three days after the procedure, although visual recovery from PRK may take as long as four weeks.

How long do you have to wait to work out after Lasik?

After having Lasik done, patients should not take part in any exercise or sports that may lead to an eye trauma for at least two months, unless they are using eye protection. Protecting your eye is necessary for sports such as tennis or contact sports (football, basketball etc.) where there is a great risk of being hit in the eye. You should ask your surgeon about your sports activities or exercise schedule, but in most cases Lasik patients can resume non-contact sports and exercise activities one week after the surgery.

Can you have a second lasik if needed?

Fortunately for most people, LASIK only needs to be done once. It can be repeated a second time if there is adequate corneal tissue remaining which needs to be determined for each case. Rarely, it can be done a third time but this can have increased risks.

Can you go tanning after Lasik eye surgery?

Although you should always use goggles for your eyes when using a tanning machine or sunglasses if you're out in the sun, it's best to give your eyes a good rest for a few days or until the surgeon tells you otherwise. Many people don't realize what a delicate procedure Lasik eye surgery or any eye surgery is. Your eyes are everything so look after them and nix the tanning for a few days. If you are out in the sun, put those sunglasses on!

Does laser eye surgery always work?

With fast excimer laser like Wave Light Eye Q 400, the laser treatment time is just 2 second per dioptre. However other machines are bit slow. The whole procedure is less than 5 minutes per eye

Are there side-effects to getting corrective eye surgery?

"Potential side effects to corrective eye surgery include discomfort 24-48 hours post surgery, glare, seeing halos around images, difficulty driving at night, fluctuation in vision, and dry eyes.Due to the complexity of corrective eye surgery, all changes done to the cornea are irreversible, that is to say they can only be altered with another surgical procedure."

What care should a patient receive after eye muscle surgery?

Patients will need someone to drive them home after their surgery. They should continue to avoid aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents for an additional three days, but they can take acetaminophen.

What exactly are the risks for lasik eye surgery?

Some of the risks of lasik eye surgery: over- or under-treatment the inability to wear contact lenses permanent loss of vision reduction in the quality of vision including the development of glare, halos, and starbursts difficulty with night-driving reduced vision in dim lighting conditions. I'm not sure of the exact statistics, but I think it's less than 1% of people who have serious complications. Upwards of 5% of people have less serious complications, the most common of which can be treated. New World iCare offers a LASIK surgery center with ALLEGRETTO WAVE Eye-Q, a 400 Hz ablation rate makes the Eye-Q one of the fastest lasers in the world and its unique PerfectPulse Technology ensures safety and accuracy in combination with outstanding visual results. For added safety, the laser has an extremely fast eye tracker that can respond to any eye movement in just six milliseconds. Previously, only lower-order aberrations (such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism) could be measured and treated either with Glasses, Contacts or Conventional LASIK treatments. Higher-order aberrations, which often linked to the visual glare and halos that cause night vision problems, earlier could not be corrected and that continued to affect quality of vision. With the advent of Wavefront technology and Customized LASIK, however, New World iCare in Mumbai, India have the diagnostic tools to measure 22,000 unique points along the optical pathway to determine and ultimately correct both lower-order and higher-order aberrations. Using the precision provided by the WavePrint map, Customized LASIK has the potential not only to correct how much you see, but also how well you see. Allegretto WaveLight technology also features a unique approach to corneal sculpting. The normal curvature of a healthy cornea is prolate or higher in the center. Most laser systems flatten centrally to create an oblate cornea. This oblate shape causes spherical aberration, which degrades the quality of vision, especially at night, and often produces glare or halos. The Allegretto laser not only treats the cornea centrally, but also peripherally. The laser uses proprietary monograms to adjust the asphericity of the cornea to perform a prolate ablation based on the anterior curvature readings. This prolate curvature, in part, accounts for the excellent quality of vision during the day and night.

Can you smoke weed before lasik eye surgery?

Source.

After a small amount of online research from LASIK knowledge bases it seems that there is no concrete evidence on this subject. Although this issue has been acknowledged no studies have been made on the any possible pro's or con's. The minimal advise is that you should refrain as much as possible from introducing THC into your body one week prior and three weeks post. That however is not necissarly good advise. Optomitrist recomendations, from several sources would state to allow one month for THC to completely clear your system prior to any eye surgery. Post surgery it is advised to introduce no THC into your system until the end of your healing period. The average healing period is different for each type of corrective eye surgery (LASIK, PRK, Wavefront, ect.) Pertaining for LASIK, depending on which type of LASIK you choose, the healing period is a minimum of 3 months for standard LASIK, and 6 months for custom LASIK.

Lamens.

Any experienced smoker knows you will occasionally suffer from red eyes or dry eyes. Common sense will tell you that altering the natural state of your body will have an affect on your body. Being that your eyes suffer trauma through the surgery it is in your best interest to allow your eyes to remain as natural as possible. There are no confirmed benefits to THC and the healing process of the eye.

Vasodilation.

Widening of blood vessels resulting from relaxation of the muscular wall of the vessels

Vasodilation is a symptom from THC in the blood stream. It is the cause of red eyes, and cottomouth. Pertaining, it can be assumed that widening the blood vessels in your eyes will slightly change their shape. Most cells in your body are no further than two cells away from a part of your circulatory system. One of this systems use is to fuel your cells. This poses two major concerns. One, every cell in your eye is altered in location, shape, or pressure. While healing, this can cause your cornea to heal differently than expected. That would have a direct inpact on portions of your vision. Two, it can be assumed that the cells in your eyes may receive to much, or not enough of what they need to survive and heal.

In Summary.

It would be my advise to clear your system of THC prior to surgery, and to not introduce any THC into your system until your healing process is complete. Eye surgery is a decision you will live with for the rest of your life. Consider sacifricing certain habits the same way you have in the same way you are sacrificing the large ammount of money you would for this surgery.

What type of cost would someone be looking at for Lasik Eye Surgery?

"The cost of Lasik can vary from between under $1000 and over $3000 per eye depending on the surgeon, the city, and the amount of work/difficulty of the work. In general, the better surgeons require a higher price but are well worth it."

How does laser eye surgery help?

so you dont have to wear contacts of glasses, it fixes your eye cornia

It's basically a method of altering the eyes' structure in order to make you less dependent on glasses or contact lenses. I heard that you can even get 20/20 vision after an operation, but naturally it varies from patient to patient. In medicine most things are looked into on a case-by-case basis. The eye is a fairly complicated organ, so surgical procedures may vary dependent on your condition. Laser eye surgery is being increasingly adopted by military organisations.

How do you change your eye color without surgery or contacts?

YOu cant, unfortunately. But I would recommend going to your eye doctor and getting coloured contacts. They are usually pretty cheap and look fantabulous! You don't even need a perscription to get coloured contacts... GOOD LUCK!

Is laser eye care safer than just wearing glasses?

Types of LASIK and Other Laser Eye Surgery:

  • Corneal Onlays/Inlays blend with your eye's surface.

  • Custom Wavefront LASIK: What makes it "custom" LASIK?

  • Epi-LASIK uses a special cutting tool to remove the cornea's outer layer.

  • IntraLase "Bladeless" LASIK uses a second laser, not a blade.

  • LASEK is a no-flap procedure used mostly for thin corneas.

  • PresbyLASIK is a possible laser eye surgery for presbyopes.

  • PRK: Some surgeons prefer PRK, the original laser eye surgery.

What eye conditions does lasik eye surgery correct?

LASIK can correct a wide range of vision problems related to the need for glasses or contact lenses. Ametropia, the condition of having an eye which is out of focus can be caused by a mismatch between the cornea and the optics of the rest of the eye resulting in light not being focused properly on the back of the eye to produce a clear image.

The most frequently corrected vision problem is myopia or nearsightedness. Also correctable is farsightedness or hyperopia. Also there is a condition of assymetry of the cornea which is called astigmatism, and this can also be corrected by LASIK.

Of interest is that many patients have a combination of two of these conditions together and this can also be corrected by LASIK. Most commonly nearsightedness with astigmatism. Also there is farsightedness with astigmatism. More uncommon is what is called "mixed astigmatism" where the eye is both near and farsighted at the same time in different meridians or directions. All of these conditions can be effectively treated with LASIK.

More recently there is even the correction of irregular shapes in the cornea which are correctable by a variety of new methods of custom treatments. There is wavefront treatments based on the overall shape of the eye and topography guided treatments based on the shape of the cornea in a particular patient. Most patients do not need or derive additional benefit from these types of treatments, although wavefront "optimized" custom treatments have been found to provide better quality of vision and are widely used by advanced lasers available today.

Other eye problems and diseases are not treatable with LASIK. Included is amblyopia or a lazy eye and presbyopia or the aging eye. In addition blurry vision due to diseases such as cataracts or glaucoma are treatable but not by LASIK procedures.

For most people, if their vision is correctable with glasses or contact lenses, it will also be correctable in a more permanent way by LASIK vision correction.

Will cocaine affect a persons eyes right after laser eye surgery?

Yes along with many more serious side effects including death.

Does Aetna insurance cover Lasik surgery?

LASIK is usually not covered by insurance but may be covered by your employer in a health savings plan or flexible spending account. You may also pay with pretax dollars in certain cases, and it is usually tax deductible.

What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of the approach to eye surgery?

Plastic Surgery Facts What You Should Know about the Risks and Benefits of Plastic Surgery. Topical treatments can help improve fine wrinkles and skin texture. However, rapid and dramatic improvements are more likely to be achieved with plastic surgery. But don't rush to schedule your plastic surgery just yet. First, here are some facts you should know. * Plastic surgery is expensive. In the US, a facelift costs from $6,000 to $12,000. * Any surgery is potentially dangerous, including plastic surgery. Complications are rare but they do occur, ranging from scarring to fatalities. Plastic surgery may be particularly risky if you have certain health conditions (e.g. diabetes). * Everyone is different. Some people do much better than others, even when treated by the same plastic surgeon. * It may take several weeks or months before your face fully recovers from plastic surgery. * Plastic surgery might adversely affect the physiology of your skin and underlying tissues, speeding up the aging process. If you decide to undergo plastic surgery, keep in mind the following. * With plastic surgery, more is not necessarily better. For instance, too tight or too frequent facelifts may create a distorted, unnatural look. The result may be worse than having no plastic surgery at all. * Find a board certified surgeon with a vast experience in the plastic surgery. Search thoroughly, compare different plastic surgeons, talk to their former patients. * It is somewhat more risky to have plastic surgery in a surgeon's office than in a hospital. If you are having an in-office plastic surgery, make sure that the facility is accredited by AAAASF (The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities). * Plastic surgery does not slow down the aging of the skin but may actually accelerate it. Therefore, plastic surgery is not a substitute for skin rejuvenation measures discussed in various articles at Smart Skin Care Site. Actually, after a plastic surgery you should be even more diligent in preserving your skin's youth. * Before going for plastic surgery, give a few month try to topical skin rejuvenation treatments (see Treatments section of this site). The results may be dramatic enough to change your mind.

How are robotics being used in the medical area?

More and more surgical procedures are robotic-assisted. These robots stabilize the hand movements of surgeons when working in delicate places like the brain and for procedures that are done with microscopes, in very small places where hands and fingers don't fit or the surgeon is unable to make the tiny movements that microscopic procedures require, robotics can adjust movements by very small increments, so that movements by the surgeon are "translated" into microscopic movements.

How does lasik work?

Bladeless LASIK uses a laser instead of a razor blade to make the corneal flap which is the first step in the LASIK procedure. The razor cuts a thin layer of the cornea which is folded back to allow the second laser, and excimer laser, to reshape the eye. In the bladeless variation, there are up to millions of tiny perforations precisely made at an exact depth into the cornea that in combination results in a separation of the outer layer of the cornea.

The bladeless approach uses a more expensive laser than the blade method but it is safer, more precise, and some studies show that the results are even better.

What type of laser is used in laser eye surgery?

There are two different types of lasers used in laser eye surgery. The actual vision correction of LASIK which is done under a flap, or PRK which is done on the surface of the eye after removal of the skin of the eye is an excimer laser. This is a short wave ultraviolet laser with a wavelength of 193 nm. It works by short pulses that break carbon carbon bonds on the surface of the eye. Typically this laser removes about 0.3 microns of tissue with each pulse. Therefore to remove the amount of tissue to correct most patients hundreds of pulses in the same spot are needed. Modern excimers use small laser spots of only about 1 mm in diameter and therefore to treat the area of a 6 mm treatment diameter can take thousands of laser spots. Fortunately these lasers run at a rate of from 100 to 400 Hz and can accomplish this in less than a minute. Infrared eye trackers are used to monitor the position of the eye, usually relying on the pupil or iris to track movements and to deliver the treatment in the correct location.
Another laser that is also used is the femtosecond laser which can make a corneal flap. This is an infrared wavelength laser which sends very small pulses about a micron in diameter to a specific focal point causing optical breakdown and tissue separation by that mechanism. Here the laser operates at a higher frequency so that up to millions of spots are created to separate the outer cornea from the deeper tissue, creating a flap of superficial tissue which is lifted up to allow the first laser mentioned to do the correction and then the flap is returned to its original position which can heal quickly and with minimal discomfort. This is the primary reason that LASIK is so much more popular than PRK, where in the latter case, a new skin must heal over the treated area which is uncomfortable for a few days and the visual recovery is much slower.

What are some laser eye surgery risks?

The risks of laser eye surgery are as followed, numbness, blindess, caterax and potential infections in in rare cases death. Speak with your doctor to get a complete list before getting surgery.

What does laser eye surgery feel like?

Not at all. The actual surgery process is a little uncomfortable but not painful at all. Your eyes are fully anaethatised with drops.

Immediately after surgery, your eyes will feel a little gritty and watery but this wears off after a couple of hours. It is advised you go to bed when you get home to rest your eyes and help healing.

I had Lasik last Saturday and was back at work Monday morning with 20/20 vision and no irritation.

A2: I just had lasik today at three pm and it's now 6:30pm. It's surprisingly no pain for what they do. everyone's different but for me, it's hard to keep my eyes open just to type. the doctor just called me and said to try and fall asleep. he said my vision should be perfect by 8:30 tonight. Right now though, it looks like I'm looking through Saran Wrap or something. and the drops they give you really help :}

Another answer

I had laser eye surgery because I'm borderline glaucoma. My doctor was hoping it would bring down my eye pressure but we we not successful. I would say no pain was felt but I did feel a percussion sometimes in one eye and became nauseated, my doctor had to stop for awhile, that was the only problem and not really a problem.
