How many of the Led Zeppelin band members are alive?
No, John Bonham is dead, if they lose 1 member, they are officially dead.
I assume that you are asking whether or not Led Zeppelin are still together. If so, no, they are not, as they disbanded on December 4, 1980, after the death of drummer/percussionist John Henry Bonham (A.K.A. Bonzo) on September 25, 1980. Bonham apparently died of asphyxiation after consuming 18-24 measures of over-proof vodka the previous night. In 1985, the surviving members of Led Zeppelin reformed to perform at Live-Aid, with Phil Collins & The Late Tony Thompson ( Ex- Power Station ) replacing John Bonham on drums. Then in 1987, Zeppelin reformed again to perform at Atlantic Records Anniversary , with John Bonham,s son Jason, replacing his dad on drums. The band then performed at Jason Bonham,s wedding several years later. Apparently, there have been rumours circulating regarding a Led Zeppelin reunion for several years. The reunion was a one -time performance to celebrate the life of Atlantic Records founder, Ahmet Ertegun, who died in late 2007 after hitting his head while attending a Rolling Stones concert. The success of this Led Zeppelin performance fueled rumours of a new studio Cd & tour, but despite the various media reports regarding this new Zeppelin Cd & tour, it seems that it will not happen, as Robert Plant has allegedly stated that he does not plan to do any touring for the next two years, having toured with country/Bluegrass vocalist/musician Allison Krauss, in support of their Cd Raising Sand.
Is Led Zeppelin going to tour again?
It seems highly unlikely. Although after the O2 Arena reunion it seemed fairly likely but shortly after Robert Plant stated he wouldn't do it. Recently Jimmy Page was quoted as saying "Zeppelin won't tour, with or wothout Robert". Whether you choose to believe him or not however is up to you.
I feel compelled to field this one, being a contributor to sites like Allexperts, etc. Frankly, it's simple - they crafted infectious, memorable riffs and melodies that stuck in our heads for years to come. Sure, they had a "larger than life" stage presence, and "Stairway To Heaven" was unavoidable in the 1970s. But frankly, they drew people in with awesome, raucious, unforgettable melodies and guitar licks (like that of "Whole Lotta Love", "Black Dog", "Kashmir") and countless people found curiosity in this band, went out and bought one of their albums, and fell in love. Their music was just beautiful and varied - they went from folky acoustic tracks to hard edged, bluesy numbers, and everything in between. They earned the adoration of the millions through variety, soul, and just plain catchy anthems. It's simple all killer no filler
Who is Robert plant married to?
Of course it was hush hush.....it would be called UNDERAGE!!! At least his women aged as he did unlike Mr Page...........
So I will elaborate..................I saw an old flame of his at the Chatt Tenn concert with Allison Krauss. Funny thing is I recognized her right away only because I did a lot of photography work back in the day and those days my stomping ground was Miami. This girl appears in many of my pics of those days. There were a small group of girls(Groupies) that hung around the local bands here, but she stood out because she was not one of them. She was obviously VERY young, but of course so was Robert back then.........that is what my first comment refers to. I saw her a lot aroung the concerts, very tall, blonde and hot in an innocent way. No make up natural girl, unlike the other girls. I was at a party in Miami very early on and there she was, sitting with him, and it was a little weird, he just waited on her and it stands out because she kept sayng she had to leave because of the time but she didn't drive so the driver had to take her. Robert didn't even want the river alone with her so HE went WITH THEM!!!! When he left the guys were making fun of him saying they should call Mummy!
Thanks for the clarification.Unfortunately, I thought that most of the groupies were alike.Just the Sable Starr types. Is she still gorgeous even today?
Sable Starr!!! Not beautiful by a mile
Sable Starr was just ok but most people judge only by the groupies seen in pics......Sable, Lori Maddox, Morgana.....and Miss Pamela. There were so many more groupies and girlfriends kept away from the press for obvious reasons. The ones in all of the pics are the same girls you see over and over........ glazed eyed and willing to do anything with almost any band. Most of these girls were the ones in LA who later on in life tried to cash in on the fact that they were basically lost , stoned young girls sleeping with anyone. The claim to fame is ?????? So what I am saying is that there WERE other girls who know who they are.....and keep quiet...and these are the girls that had more of a connection to the guys than the groupies who just offered a quickie. I will get hatemail I am sure but I am 100% correct. I am a living breathing example......that NEVER breathed a word for self promotiion and never will
" I am a living breathing example......that NEVER breathed a word for self promotiion and never will"
Wow!!! I really envy you there.Wish it could've been me!!I would love to email you asking you about your experiences!
Ok I posted on the other question too.....IT MUST be the same girl Lauren that I know from back in the day. We were friend and the photographer that posted I think I know you too..........this is Crystal......from Crystal and Gail from the Grove. This Lauren was last seen by me in the 80's and not looking too much different from the way she looked from the 70's. I met her for a drink at a local club, she had a son and was working in the beauty biz. In the 70's she hung out with a guy named Alice with long blonde hair and his g/f and another girl short with black hair. The thing was that she was always the attention getter, never needed makeup kind of girl and with makeup we hated her....that kind of beautiful....but she was really sweet and really quiet and if I remember correctly was involved musically with a band too. The Robert Plant thing is nothing I know about BUT........she disappeared quite often from the scene. I recall she was still in school tho.......this is a long post ....sorry but memories of Miami and all the good times flooding in. BTW the club she was at when Zep was here on their first tour was Thee Image.......well I would love to find an old friend....lets all look on facebook !

What Led Zeppelin album featured a brown paper bag for it's cover?
The album was In Through The Out Door. In through the out door The brown bag wasn't "on" the cover; as a marketing stunt, In Through The Out Door was released with five different covers, then packaged in the brown bag. Buyers didn't know which cover they had until they removed the wrapper. Kind of a sad way to try to boost sales.

Did Joan Baez write led zeppelin songs?
Not as far as I know- or at least, I don't believe she ever wrote songs specifically for Led Zeppelin. However, Led Zeppeling did cover material that she'd released (Babe I'm Gonna Leave You) but I think even that had been an adaptation of an earlier folk/roots piece.
Prepared to be corrected on any of the above by those who know more...
What does the song Kashmir by Led Zeppelin mean?
Originally called "Driving to Kashmir,a region in the northernmost part of the Indian subcontinent,Plant explained to rock journalist Cameron Crowe: The whole inspiration came from the fact that the road went on and on and on. It was a single-track road which neatly cut through the desert. Two miles to the East and West were ridges of sandrock. It basically looked like you were driving down a channel, this dilapidated road, and there was seemingly no end to it. 'Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dreams...' It's one of my favourites...that, 'All My Love' and 'In the Light' and two or three others really were the finest moments. But 'Kashmir' in particular. It was so positive, lyrically.

How did Robert plant and Jimmy page meet?
Nothing. They are still friends. Robert doesn't want to do the tour because he wants do more stuff with Alison Krauss.
After Walking into Clarksdale and the tour afterward did not make huge colossal inroads, I believe based on what I've read and seen that Robert wanted to try something else...this something different became the Strange Sensations, especially the second album by them is very "Zeppelin" like in many ways, after a concert with back up from the Black Crowes Jimmy toured with them . Page and Plant reunited in 2001 for two shows and in 2007 for the Zeppelin reunion, but they are in two different places musically these days.
Even though Jimmy Page owned Alister Crowley's mansion aka Boleskine House at one time, I'm pretty sure Led Zeppelin didn't really make a deal with devil. Crowley was an occultist, hedonist, used drugs was bisexual and a social critic (Born October 12, 1875 Died December 1, 1947). In other words pretty much like a Rock Star. That just adds to the mysticism. Then there is Zeppelin 4 aka Runes. To top it all off there is their sexual escapades and drug and alcohol abuse. They got so famous, so fast it had to be overwhelming. They could buy anything they wanted and had women throwing themselves at their feet. I was rather disappointed many years after the songs were coming out on the radio to find out that so much of their music was actually plagiarized. They added a new spin to it but nonetheless alot of their music was old blues, revamped. It kind of took the mysticism right out of it. They are now in their 60's, and are ageing just as badly as anyone else. That and the tragedies of Bonham's death, Plant's son's death and Plant being in a bad car accident leads me to believe that if they made that alleged "deal" with the devil, they received the worst end of it. Zeppelin is still one of the greatest bands ever and there is no denying their success decades after the band broke up.
I added two links at the bottom of the page to improve this answer.

When did the band Led Zeppelin start?
Led Zeppelin was formed in 1968 after the Yardbirds disbanded. Jimmy Page had the right to the name "The Yardbirds" but all the original members... Chris Dreja, Jim McCarthy and Keith Relf were done with it all. Jimmy Page and Peter Grant searched for new musicians and came up with Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham. The first song they played together was "Train-Kept a Rollin'" and they played their first show as Led Zeppelin at the Marquee in 1968 shortly after their first blues based album "Led Zeppelin " would come out and outsell former Yardbird Jeff Beck's album Truth. Hope that helps
Is jimmy page a practicing Satanist?
James(Jimmy) Patrick Page is an English guitarist, and songwriter.
He was interested in occult studies especially with Aleister Crowley's work.
Though Crowley was accused of being "the beast" (by his overly religious mother) when he was an adolescent, he was never a "Satanist" and neither was Page.
However if you are inclined to believe that anything outside of church is Satanic, then in your eyes he was or is.

What did led zeppelin sing about?
Jack Black said that they sang about vikings, having sex and vikings having sex. The Great Robert Plant's lyrics often had references to things like the vikings, fantasy type stuff (such as The Lord of the Rings) and due primarily perhaps to the fact that they always covered old blues songs, messed up relationships. A lot of the songs where they talk about stuff like that (messed up relationships) were covers but some where their own.
