Great story; Keith Moon joked that they would go down like a lead zeppelin because they were so heavy, and then Peter Grant persuaded them to change it to 'led' because he thought that many people (he said Americans, but I can imagine a lot of other people would to) would pronounce it 'leed zeppelin.'

Jimmy was not married to Charlotte Martin. I met Jimmy and his assistant 4 March 1981, and spent several hours with them. Also met Scarlett when she was only 9 years old and to this day are friends with 'then' neighbors of Jimmy's. He no longer owns the home where we met so may years ago. Some other history I learned that night from Rick (his long-time assistant and driver) that I've never seen written about was that Charlotte had apparently been girlfriend to Eric Clapton prior to Jimmy.

He moved to a house in his teen years and there was a spanish acoustic guitar left behind from the previous owners, and that's when he first picked up a guitar. He bought his first electric guitar at 15, which was a Stratocaster.

Page, Plant, Bonham and Jones played their first live show together on September 7, 1968, in Copenhagen. For this tour they were billed as "The Yardbirds, Featuring Jimmy Page." They were fulfilling a Yardbirds commitment that was still on the books from when the last incarnation of that band disbanded. The band goes on to record the first album in the studio and the plan was still to call the band "The New Yardbirds". As a contract was being signed with Atlantic Records and on the eve of their first gig following the album sessions, they received a cease and desist order from Chris Dreja's (founder of the original Yardbirds)attorney. It depends on what you mean by "First Record." There was a demo made with "Babe I'm gonna leave you" and "Dazed and confused" made even before Led Zeppelin 1 that is worth hundreds of $. However,if you are talking about Led Zeppelin 1, you can get it on Ebay for next to nothing.

The band is actually called Led Zeppelin. The lead singer is Robert Plant.

When Jimmy Page was assembling the group, Keith Moon (drummer from The Who) got word of his plans and predicted the group would go down "like a lead balloon" (this is a common English expression). Bassist and keyboardist John Entwistle thought it would be "more like a lead zeppelin." Page took the phrase and decided to change the phrase because he said "those damned Americans will pronounce it lead (leed) zeppelin."

The main guitar riff was based off a previous Led Zeppelin song that they only played live in concerts called "The Girl I Love (She Got Long Black Wavy Hair)". An example of this song can be heard on the album "BBC Sessions", although it does appear elsewhere in bootleg albums from their earliest tours.

Preference is most important, but plasmas have been considered in the past to have better color and contrast. They have also been prone to image burn, where high contrast static images leave a faint imprint on the screen if they are displayed for long periods of time.

I'll try to compare some similar items: A autographed Coda album, including John Paul Jones' autograph can go for about $1000. I have an autographed framed poster, signed by Robert & Jimmy with a JPJ bass pick in shadowbox that could probably sell for around $1000. Compare those to a smaller, autographed concert ticket, and I'd be willing to bet the price drops significantly. Maybe $200 to $300 in the right market? The problem with it is that the signing surface is so small, and the ticket isn't really a great memorabilia item because it's basically a Ticketmaster ticket, I assume (?).

The Starlit Stairway was one more in a long list of talent shows on early TV. The whole idea was made popular during Ted Mack's Amateur Hour a number of years earlier.

Starlit Stairway was a fairly long-running talent show of younger people, having been popular through the 1950s and, updated, well into the 1960s. The station experienced pretty low viewership in the mid-1960s, and finally could not find appropriate sponsors. This sort of show had been dying off while sitcoms and adventure shows were becoming the fad.

Of course, the talent show (much energized) was to become very popular much later due to producers like Simon Cowell.
