What are the little yellowish balls found in Miracle-Gropotting mix?
The little yellowish balls found in Miracle-Gro potting mix are typically a type of polymer called water-absorbing crystals or hydrogel. These crystals are designed to absorb and retain water, helping to improve moisture retention in the soil. They release water gradually, providing a consistent moisture supply to plant roots, which can be especially beneficial for potted plants.
What is the best mix for rough-cast?
measure everything in buckets or the colour of the roughcast when dry will be patchy and vary in shades! (trust me iv done it) then it looks rubbish!
4 chippings
2 sand
1 hydrated lime
1 cement
tiny squirt of feb (or fairy)
water
allow to mix for the lime to expand, you want the mix to be sloppy so that you can flick it on the wall, every Pearson has a personal prefernce as to how wet or dry they like the mix. You may need to scale the measurements down as i was mixing in a huge disel mixer.
