In time trial mode the staff ghosts start with the name "nin*" which is obviously short for nintendo, followed by their name. Use the 1 or 2 button to select the ghost you wish to race against and then d pad down and select challenge this ghost. Most tracks require you to beat the "normal" staff ghost by around 7 seconds (average, shorter tracks around 4 seconds, and the longer tracks around 10 seconds) when you beat the standard staff ghosts by the required margin you will unlock the expert staff ghosts as well as new vehicles.

The best way to beat the staff ghosts is to learn all the short cuts and strategic places to use the three boosts that you get. When having trouble beating a ghost i watch the ghost data replay and see how they get the good time, and experiment with different vehicles, I never use the Bowser bike for any normal races but have found it is one of the best in time trails because of its speed. I have also found bikes are generally better for time trails because of the mini boost when doing wheelies, do as many as you can.

To unlock Rosalina, you must create a save file of Super Mario Galaxy on your wii, then go on your license on Mario Kart Wii.

Another way to unlock Rosalina, get at least one star in all cups in mirror mode.

Simply hold down the R button.

You can get a small speed boost, or mini-turbo, by alternating left and right on the Control Pad and then releasing R. Hold R in a curve (Drift), then press << and >> fast

You have to get 1st on the 150cc cups. You do not have to win 1st every race in that particular cup. You have to win 1st in the points you have won. There is other characters that you can win from winning 1st in the cups. The Mii, However can be won in any level.

They Are Both Great Games But If You Like Racing and head to head competitions then get Mario kart...on the other hand you can get super Mario bros wii if you like the original games where you jump and squish goombas and get power-ups :) hope this helped

The "Wii Cups" in Mario Kart Wii are the cups in the top half of the cup selection menu. In Mario Kart DS these were known as the "Nitro Cups". The Wii cups are the Mushroom Cup, the Flower Cup, the Star Cup and the Special Cup.

The Star and Special Cups have to be unlocked.

It is Easy as can be. All you have to do is set a time on time trials on sixteen out of the 32 coarses, or set a time on all of the corses at the begining of the game (since there is 16 at the start of the game) or if you have all of the coarses unlocked and don't have a time set for any coarse yet, set a time on all the coarses so you can unlock both Birdo and Toadette.

How to Drift on "Mario Kart."

1. Select your kart and stuff

2. Don't select "Automatic" instead select "Manual"

3. When going around corners hold the "B" button until blue sparks appear at the back at your Kart/Bike (If you want a bigger boost hold "B" until the sparks go to yellow)

This isn't important but if you just tap the "B" button your Kart/Bike it will hop.

Firstly go and complete the nitro 150cc grand prix, where you will unlock the seven carts for character. Then, complete retro 150cc grand prix, where you will get150cc Mirror, where everything is the opposite way round. Say, for example, if you turn left, you will then turn right (in mirror, hence the name).
