Colonel Henry Blake (Mclean Stevenson) is discharged from the army and his transport plane home was "shot down somewhere over the sea of Japan" it is arguably and consistently said to be the saddest moment in television history, and is even referenced as a joke in another FOX show "Family Guy"

Non-directly Radar's uncle dies which is the cause of his hardship discharge and leaving of the show.

Cpl Max Klinger was a character in CBS television series M*A*S*H (1972-83) as played by Jamie Farr. In the early years of the show, Klinger was dressing as a female in order to get a Section 8 out of the Army. He wore size 10 pumps and a variety of ladies gowns showing off his hairy chest.

Sutherland was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. He spent most of his childhood in Hampton, New Brunswick while moving to Nova Scotia for his teen years. Donald went to college at Victoria College, University of Toronto. He left Canada for England to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in the 60s.

For the CBS television series M*A*S*H (1972-83) there are no records of an actor with a glass eye. However, Gary Burghoff (Radar O'Reilly) does have a congenital deformity of three fingers on his left hand. He always kept that hand away from the camera, usually hidden by a clipboard.

Larry Linville (1939-2000) played the surgeon, Maj Frank Burns, in the CBS television series M*A*S*H from 1972 until 1977. Afterwards he kept busy with roles in both television and the movies. He was married 5 times - all but the first marriage was after he left M*A*S*H. He died in 2000 after complications from lung cancer surgery.
